He's still our first choice probably, it could be that we're waiting for Liverpool to buckle under pressure and agree to loan him.

 

Express have tweeted that we have reopened negotiations for Sakho this evening.

No way. We have invested a lot in Jay, and he is improving at a good rate. No deal.

 

With Charlie out for the season and Jay starting to return to form.......it's a no from me.

 

Just had a quick look at the Liverpool Transfer Thread to see if there was anything about Sakho. Nothing, but I did notice that one of their posters has done a run down of the players in our team. Basically VVD is the only one any good and apparently only a couple of them will go on to win anything. Funny because I was sure Saints were off to Wembley next month.....

 

Selling Jay would be madness.

Whilst I enjoy these threads, Mickey Mouse wears a Transfer Window watch. What a ridiculous load of old bollocks this is.

Windows should shut before the season starts and, if you really need a January squad boost, give it a week and no more. That would really make it edgy and worthy of some yellow ticker tape banners.

 

In fairness the reports offer no indication as to our response to the Jay rod offer. I'm assuming it will be a firm "no".

Not only do we need him this season but if he got back to his best he would be worth £30+. He was a fantastic player and seems to be getting better and better as he plays more.

 

Alternatively, keep the window open through much of the season, only closing at the end of January. Much less deadline silliness if teams aren't having to anticipate what their needs might be several months down the road.

 

But then you simply get what you had before the introduction of windows, namely big clubs just buying talent to replace their own injured players as and when they need it. The window principle is sound but poorly executed in my humble opinion.

 

As it stands, those big clubs are stockpiling an absurd number of players for such eventualities.

 

Wouldn't be surprised if this happens. His Dad & Brother have regularly bad mouthed the club on twitter and Jay Rod has had the odd cryptic dig at Puel in his after match interviews. Also Adam Blackmore has tweeted that he wouldn't be surprised as he believes he wants to leave?
Also with the 4-3-3, once all fit we'd have Gabbiadini / Redmond / Long/ Austin / Tadic / Boufal / Sims and Jay Rod.
But we should look at getting more than £10 million for him, to give us more money to strengthen in the summer.

 

I would be staggered if it happens this window.
