Come on Dai give some credit for an excellent away performance. Liverpool 5 shots on target Swans 3 and 3 goals. A first class display and a well deserved win

Whether we look at the last 6 matches or the last 10 matches the current form guide shows that we are in 13th place which must give optimism for the future given that we are not in the relegation zone at the moment.

Middlesborough, Leicester, Bournemouth, Hull, Sunderland, Watford and Crystal Palace are below us in both form tables.

Southampton are 12th (last 6 matches) and 11th (last 10 matches) which should give optimism for the next match given we are at home and they have lost 4 out of the last 5 league matches

I have already given credit for the way we never gave up and took advantage of the situation but to say we were the better side is way off....We were lucky Liverpool were poor up front or they would have buried us and im glad they were poor up front but they still managed to come from 2 goals behind.....

I don't think they were better - they just had more of the ball. I also think that none of their goals should have been allowed - the 1st was a definite push on Olsen, the second - well Wijnaldum definately used his arm to control the ball - the replays are very clear. Aside from their 2 goals, Fabianski wasn't particularly busy. Our defence was better than their attack for the majority of that game. And our attack proved to be more clinical than their defence. That was refelected in the final score. We hit the post as well remember.

Liverpool played around halfway line and occasionally made a stab or two out wide but the reality is they only played in the areas we gave them. Throughout the game we pushed Liverpool into the space of our choosing and we controlled the stage. Paul Clement choreographed Liverpools' dance to the beat of his own tune. I can see him now, all Latex and leg warmers in training. The players executed their roles superbly and won the game because Clement out coached Klopp.

To say Liverpool lost because they didn't have their scoring boots on Dai is a bit churlish. Maybe they lost because we didn't play in stilettos, or because Fabianski wasn't handcuffed and blindfolded. You're just comfort eating but the truth you have to face up to Dai is that Liverpool are not the team you kid yourself they are. Both Manchesters, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal are all better teams with more durable squads so that makes Liverpool 6th in the top 6 and far from title contenders.

Since Liverpool met us they've levelled off back to where they should be and that worries me a little. We have to stop believing the Liverpool hype too, we beat a good team away from home, we didn't beat a contender by any stretch of the imagination and now Southampton are coming. We can't get carried away by beating Liverpool, especially if we have pretensions to be a good team ourselves so we can't look to much into our performance against them. If we think that win was more than it actually was then Southampton will punish us, they'll hit us so hard they'll knock us on our arse and back into the doom and gloom and we'll have to start from the bottom all over again. We beat Liverpool, big deal, if we beat Citeh, Utd, Arsenal, Spurs or Chelsea, then that would be different.

Agreed we will need to step up again, they won't be complacent and know where we have strengthened and will have a good look at the game plan we had at Liverpool. They rested their first team in FA Cup so they will come confident , fresh and focused on this game.

Hope Narsingh plays and can spoil their plans. We can beat them. I also hope Roger East doesn't cock the match up for us.

Anyone now if Van whats his face is still out, that will be a massive loss for them especially with Fonte moving on.

I think this should be a great game , we bring a bit of form with us .. the Saints could be bring a bit of a dodgy performance after booking their spot in Wembley .
I think we will win our 3 game in the 4 games .

Yes, VVD is out which is a huge loss for us. CBs will be Yoshida (who has done well this season) and Stephens (young and with potential, but raw).

Should be a cracking game. I can't wish you guys luck for this one, but I do for the rest of the season. Great club, nice football, I love Siggy and I hope Clement proves a top manager. He's worked hard to get this chance.

If we cant get a result at HOME against a side not having a good season themselves then the Liverpool win will count for nothing as we fall further into relegation mode....This is a must win game at this stage of the season....

That's extremely optimistic in my book, I was very optimistic on us getting 36 points, given the games we have coming up, I have us down for a realistic 6 wins and 3 draws, which given this season is as optimistic as I can get.................<laugh>

I think my prediction was before the Liverpool game so I should say currently 5 wins and 3 draws, not made it very clear, when highlighting my retrospective prediction...........<cheers>

Just checked trunds, and I made the prediction on the 'Drop Trio' thread, two days before the Anfield game which would give us the 36 points total!...............<ok>

Yes, they're having a really poor season by getting to the League Cup Final without conceding a goal.

The Liverpool game will ALWAYS count as we had three points from it.

A must win game? That's a matter of opinion.

Lose at home and i cant see us getting 30 points and will get relegated.....We need to do something we have not done all season and put a string of wins together and it must start against the Saints.....<ok>
