I have to say you are a good side but your comments do make me laugh, Should be beating Swansea or bad result, you have won exactly 2 more games than us this season, hardly a team flying against a L2 side is it. Saying that I expect a hard fought game and can see either 1 goal settling it either way or a draw.
Klopp remarked after the semi-final that Saints were a much better side than Swansea....can't argue with that. Doesn't mean we will win, but suggests that we should.
Yes we have just 2 more wins, but we are a better side than you, that is quite clear. I am not saying you are crap. The standard of this league is very high so there are no "easy" games. But the fact of the matter is only one of us is fighting relegation and that is because you have a worse team than us. Aside from Sigurdson I would argue we are superior in every department. Fer is a good player also I must add. And no we are not high flying as you say, a good couple of wins against Leicester and Liverpool mask the fact we recently lost 4 in a row. Which is why I would not be shocked to lose or draw this fixture. However, I believe as we are a better side and are aiming for better things that you this season we should be disappointed with anything less than 3 points.
this game will depend a lot on who is fit and available - Claude has done his best to keep a fit squad but football is football and we may have to struggle for a couple of weeks - this will be close
*scratches head* I'm sure we are 'aiming' to win. Just it might not work like that. Clement is no mug.
Quite frankly, no we shouldn't. Although we are rightly favourites to do so, to expect to win would be foolish in the extreme. Edit: We are 2.42 (around 7/5) on Betfair. Clearly no certainty.
Don't you not know what expect actually means? Just because you expect something to happen it doesn't mean you deny the existence of any alternative possible outcomes. To expect something is to believe something is likely to happen. I think it is likely we will beat Swansea and believe we should do just that considering the difference in quality between us and them.
Yes, I know what expect means, thanks. I do not expect to beat Swansea. I have been following this sport long enough to be very wary of expectations.
Fair enough if you think we will draw/lose. Only reason i questioned whether you knew what it meant was because I really don't see how expecting/thinking we will win is "foolish in the extreme".
In the league we have played 11 away games, won 2 and scored 9. I don't think that is the kind of statistic that backs up 'expecting to win'. I hope we do and I am sure that we will try to, however Swansea need the points, and yes they have been poor so far this season, but a new manager who has won 2 of 3 league games suggests this game is far from a foregone conclusion!
You can quote whatever statistics about how many away games we have won etc and I'll do the exact same to argue against it. We have won just 2 away games? Well guess how many home games Swansea have won... just the 2. We also have won more points away from home than they have playing at home. So looking at those stats perhaps it isn't so foolish to expect a win.
Yes, I heard that, and he didn't say that trotted out line of 'no disrespect to... [Swansea]' either.
Interesting to see a debate on this before a game. You can see why the reactions to negative results are so different, when the expectations are quite different going into games.
Swansea have had a bounce from Clement`s arrival - they are a different proposition to the side they were earlier in the season.
3 weeks for VVD ! - that`ll have him back the week before the cup final. I hope that`s true. What is his injury anyway ? - can`t be a break then.
