Nice speeches yeah. Federer is so classy though. Love him. What was up with that Kia motors guy's English though. Pure comedy. Federer said something interesting in his press conference after the semi-final about if he has to take another 6 months off then that's what it takes. Can't remember fully. But the implication I got is that it's all about Wimbledon now since that time frame skips the whole clay season. He knows the clay of the French Open is probably out for a title, it's never been his best or favourite surface/slam and the Murrays, Djokovics will dominate, plus if Nadal stays fit he's got to be joint favourite. Clearly the 6 months he's just had off were about more than just rehabbing a minor knee injury. Maybe there were other body issues. Maybe he needed to get the fire burning properly again. Who knows. I think he's got another season in him after this, especially if he doesn't win Wimbledon this year. I mean Ken Rosewall won a slam at 37 but that was in the '70s, but Federer's game is so good there's no reason theoretically for him not to play on at a high level, but it's about the physical things and the mind. Have to say how much more enjoyable that final was than seeing the usual Murray - Djokovic stuff for the last few seasons. Both Roger and Rafa will be massively missed. And the state of the mens' game is also a concern, there are some very good, very fine players around and coming up but none inspire the same levels of awe or have the same natural gifts as these two.
