have we ever had a manager so deep in denial? cannot believe how so upbeat he was on the radio, totally oblivious to the fact we've lost 15 out of the last 20
He's a man in a bad place, he knows it, we know it, what's he meant to say? I reckon he's got the next two games to turn things around, lose them and he's a goner. Fingers crossed he does it, because I don't think he's a bad manager, we're going through a really bad patch. Ferguson went through a bad patch and look what happened thereafter.
LJ: "Sometimes you have to bow to the quality of a finish like their second one." #BURvBRC Thats because there is no focus on finishing or shooting at AG during training. Bit of a coincidence as LJ had no shot on him as a player, meaning we are developing a side that is totally without teeth
So even we get a point, two, three ha ha over the next two games. Do you see any points in February and be honest
We need some confidence, we cannot have gone from a decent team to a bad team in such a short space of time unless there has been a falling out with manager and players(in which case we're fkd), we just need something to click. I'm hopeful, I can see us beating both Weds & Rotherham, after that who knows. Gotta try and be a bit positive.
Exactly my thinking,we have to start winning, and that must happen against Rotherham. lose tomorrow he has to go.
Against Rotherham is a must, and hopefully under a new Manager. If we cant beat them, then we may as well start the journey planning to Gillingham, Northampton and co, and life back in L1 now.
Genuinely at the stage now where there's no good managers out there, yet we need to get rid of our current one. My personal favourite would be Neil Warnock right now, and I'm stunned at myself for saying that.
I reckon so. He has a real affection for Bristol City for some reason. I think we've had some amazing games atmosphere-wise against him which probably has seemed quite impressive, and given he lives in Looe, we're the biggest team in the South West which would be handy for him.
I agree but reckon that he still will be given Rotherham as well- That said, lose tomorrow and the pressure for Saturday might just be too much- Considering that our recent successes have been a Home draw and an Away win against a league 1 club, and the fact that we aren't particularly confident against Rotherham,(who to be fair, wont turn up to lie down)-I think that does sum up where as a team our status currently stands.
I have always liked NW, despite the general hatred of him on here, and his hysterics/antics at times, but you can never fault his competitiveness or desire to win football matches and 'tell it as it is'. My only concern now is his age, and whether he has the desire or more importantly the stamina necessary to take a potentially promising club like ours and oversee what could still be a long term project to achieve top flight football. Then there is our owner......who could be a big stumbling block. And no matter how much I might want someone like Neil Warnock, I just cant see Lansdown accepting or appointing someone who might tell him a few home truths, which I'm sure he would. 5-10 years ago I would have made him my number 1 choice, but now I am not as convinced as I once was.
Rob i would go and get him.Drive him up, have a good chat, and say to Lansdown this is the man. NW would be a brilliant appointment here. He is manager of Cardiff sadly. Alan Pardew is my man, followed by Nigel Pearson, this would be the way forward both highly respected. "would they come Lansdown would have to sell the vision to them.
I am not exactly stunned but yesterday I thought along similar lines ... in reality, he has just gone past pension age! in a few years time will be still heading for it..70 ... so a couple more years yet!
Harry Rednapp anyone? Just a question!! Always seems to have the passion, would he have the desire, not so sure......but does know how to motivate players and experience of putting round pegs into round holes!!
I wouldn't argue with Harry. Whatever happens I have a feeling Lansdown will try to save face finding some kind of made up position for Junior, mark my words.
Been saying that for a couple of weeks, would "save face" would "save money" and likely have a young manager in the making in a couple of years time!
