    Right..

Just back from the cinema and I watched T2:Trainspotting.

Basically if you have fond memories of the first one this ****ing film will ruin them.

Other than the music and the occasional look back at the first one I can't see what the **** this has to offer at all. The original was a master piece, original, edgy, and exciting. This one tries to be all those but fails.

Don't get me wrong, I've seen worse films this year but to try and follow up a classic such as Trainspotting with this just shows what a sell out this was.

Anyone that knows the script of the book and theater production will find some of this hilarious with what they do with Spud, such a kop out tbh.

OK film. **** sequel to a classic.

    6/10

Knew this was gonna be totes ****e. Thanks for confirming it so my limited curiosity doesn't get the better of me.

Its all a money making exercise for the cast and director. Sell out seems the right term since the original was so counter-cultural and edgy, guess that's what happens once a certain type hits middle age (not that every artist sells out once they're no longer young and rebellious, some get old and rebellious, moreso)

The novel sequel was bullshit as well

Well i guessed given all 4 return it couldnt be good as no set of 4 heroin junkies are going to live that long without on dieing.

There was great work to be done showing the helplessness of methadone heads and knocking a few teeth out and showing the reality of it all but i supposed that wasnt done?

Nope. Hardly anything at all to do with heroin. Only one of the 4 were using, and he didn't even look ill, or go through withdrawals.

Total sell out really that very loosely followed the book Porno.

Yeah but surely in the interim period one of them has to have od'd and to tell me 3 lads walked away from it and were ok is laughable.

It had to top t1 if thats what its to be called in shock factor no? Surely it should have

Tommy did die in the first one tbf.

But they should have carried on with the same script showing the real struggle of addiction, relapse, lose everything, recovery, relapse again etc etc.

So much potential but they bottled it.
Went far too safe with the very loose version of Porno.

It was basically 3 mates from school and Begbie meeting up for a laugh, and a few fights.

Some fairly funny parts, and some nice nostalgia from the original. Not a lot else.

Good god. They must have gone really slow through the mountain stages. They'll be so pissed when they find out someone already won.

Yeah it's basically about the resentment and tension arising from Renton stealing the drug money in the original novel/film. Then the gradual disintegration of Sick Boy's life as everybody betrays or abandons him, in the novel at least

It's just a shame it's got Jesse Eisenberg in it as he's his usual very annoying self but it's possible to overlook that, even though he's a central element in the film, as it's so well made and Jason Segel is really excellent

yeh he was an interesting guy

I gave it a solid 7.8/10. I was expecting it to be good and it was. Always nice when you're surprised after not knowing what to expect. Worth that extra 1 point rating. <ok>
