That is not being in the know. Nearly all of our signings are 'under the radar'.

 

Not these days they aren't. Gabbiadini, for one, has been mentioned since the summer window and we get nearly daily updates...

 

Well hopefully tomorrow we will have that conclusion.

 

I was told that they had conversations in the summer with view to replacing JR whom was going to WBA

 

LeG on SaintsWeb doesn't seem to think we're signing a centre-back ... surely VVD's can't be that serious then?

 

I thought this too but he refers to first half of the second sentence of the post - "under the radar". We will be getting a centre-back.

 

We will 100% sign a CB, I think it will be a loan though.

There's a few - Guan, K.billy and LeG. They're the regular ITKs anyway, though a few others are more hit and miss.

 

Just one for thought,B'mth are supposedly interested in Begovic and Chelsea will sell if they can get a replacement,am I the only one who thinks that he's the sort to push FF instead of this French fellow.
Or are Saints just interested in the temporary side of the signing?

The Nice keeper may be a loan with a view to a perm. Transfer that is, not 80's hair do.

 

Begovic is just as good as Forster, arguably better. He's not going to come here though.

I'd like to get a cb in on a permanent really. Gives them time to settle in before Virgil goes in the Summer. Don't want to be signing 2 come Summer.

 

Begovic is a better keeper than Forster, or was, don't know how good he is after sitting on the bench for the majority of the last couple of seasons. I think the young guy on loan is to have a better backup on the bench than Lewis/Taylor for the rest of the season and to have a view on having a young keeper to develop a la Gazzaniga a few year ago. If we make the move permanent then it will allow Lewis to potentially go on loan and leave us with 3 keepers who are all relatively experienced.

I'm not convinced Begovic is at the same level r better than Fraser, not any more.

I used to think he was quality, but he is on the wrong side of older and barely plays.
