Nope. He was found guilty of an offence at the time when the FL acted against him. He argued (unsuccessfully twice) that you are not officially found guilty in Italy until you all your appeals have been heard. Had he bought a more expensive car, he would have been found guilty on the same evidence.
He was acquitted of any criminal offence in any sense of the word, decriminalisation or not. Italian records will show acquitted of any criminal offence. Guess this doesn't make Cellino as bad as what he's being made out to be now. Let's hope they put cameras in at the Cellino v FL rematch, it's Cellino's home game....
Bamba's still haunting us - he gave away the free kick Reading scored the winner from. Belter from Murphy for Burton today too?
It doesn't matter, was just pointing out he wasn't found 'innocent', that's not what his possible ban is for anyway. That's for the alleged bung to the agent for the McContract deal.
You're never 'found innocent' in a court of law. You ARE innocent until proven guilty. This highlights Cellino's original claim to the EFL - that you had to wait until legal appeals were completed in Italy. The first verdict is only right if it is upheld until the bitter end. This is big ammunition for him, should he choose to use it. Bottom line? I think he's simply delaying the ban from the McContract case until he walks away. Which begs the question - can the FA pursue him if he's no longer an owner?
Perhaps they will forget about the McCormack mister miner as MC has already served his time technically speaking for the crimes that he is now not guilty of. The problem for MC as I see it is that at the time the FA passed sentence it was a crime. Just because it has been down scaled now, nobody could have known the answer. Tbf, the FA can't keep postponing punishments on the hope that a law gets downscaled
I believe his ban will be scrapped on appeal and Cellino will buy back the Rads share for the ten quid he paid for it in first place
Someone had better sort out who is pulling the purse strings soon because if we fail to bring in the two targets that Monk was promised (after selling Mowatt) and we fail to win promotion by a point or two there won't be a Leeds fan left who will feel inspired by Rad or Cellion. Not to mention the contract offer for Jansson and Monk... if we don't sign Jansson before the end of the month he will be linked with every club going and his agent will be working overtime to find him the big PL deal. Edited/....
Good thing the Rad said they were fully behind Monk and backing him. Imagine the disaster this transfer window could have been
Monk has given a few interviews, it sounds like he wasn't 100% behind the sale of Mowatt, me personally I'm glad he has gone but Monk doesn't seem to share my enthusiasm. Reading between the lines, it seems Monk is questioning why we would sell a fringe player before being certain of acquiring a replacement, the noises he is making are a polite way of him saying to Cellino and Rad I hope you have one of "my" targets lined up, not some SerieB player that even I am going to have to Wiki It looks like we are holding on to Taylor for the time being, that's a positive.
Holding on to Taylor will only be a plus if he's playing. If he's going to be another injury prone Byram, better cashing in
In agreement about Mowatt Ristac, even when Monk brought him on as sub he didn't do anything spectacular. I said way back when that both Cook and Mowatt wouldn't be the headliners they were during his first season, he's gone downhill. Both Byram and Cook have gone and been forgotten, replaced by better, and will always happen, Cook is struggling at Bournemouth. Mowatt slid down hill and has gone because we already have better, he too will soon be forgotten, however, I expect Mowatt to improve at Barnsley with the right coaching, who by the way are top 6 contenders....
Well we are playing against part timers today, anyone brought in to the starting 11 need to look world class against Sutton, last thing we need is to be struggling and having to bring on first choice players risking an injury. Fully expect Sutton to come out all guns blazing in the first 20 minutes and be out on their feet second half, hoping we can score early and put this one to bed before half time. Expecting Antonsson and Grimes to start, if they don't stand out against Sutton then they are never going to. Denton and Coyle at the back, the CB pairing will be an interesting choice, I'm hoping we rest Ayling but do we want to see Bartley and Jansson risked?
All good points Ristac. We need to have on this by half time. So if we can bring on a promising forward or CB from the squad to get game time, that would mark a perfect day
