The only good thing is, so many of our first team played this game it wont have much bearing on Tuesday.
You're telling me. I live in North London. Half my friends and family are gooners. Hell, even my son is a gooner!
Sorry, I don't agree. If players are carrying knocks then fair enough but resting them for what is by and large a meaningless game against Swansea, I don't get it. I'll get over it by 26 Feb! And maybe if we win midweek. 5-0 is a crazy score even so. We have actually played some decent football and created some good situations.
You would have thought that Jenas, being an ex-Spurs player would spend less of his commentary jizzing over Arsenal.
Well that's it for me on match-thread duty for maybe the rest of the season. I shall see you all on the 26th of February for a very special occasion. Cheers once again for letting me do it!
We've just lost 5-0 at home, and yet there's not a single part of me that is disappointed. Three league game, three very winnable league games, to get our league season right back on track (hopefully with a couple of new signings), and then a fortnight to prepare for Wembley (hopefully with Austin and Virgil fit).
The team as far as I'm concerned besides a couple of spots was enforced - but the tactics have hung the players out to dry a little bit, but who knows if there just wasn't enough time to drive in the message. The team gave us very little leeway leaving the door just ajar, the tactics knocked it wide open and then Arsenal burst through, kicking the door off it's hinges on the way past. When the draw was announced I saw plenty guiltily hoping we wouldn't even make it past Norwich, so in terms of the importance of the result, ho-hum. Not a good reflection on us in a few different areas, though.
Whilst I never thought we'd be thrashed, I expected to lose. Was always going to be difficult after Wednesday, especially with an EPL game on Tuesday and a couple more injuries. Would have been great to have got through, but not broken hearted to cut back on the upcoming matches.
