Lineker probably has a point about the strength of the lower leagues. All the money the Premier League teams spend importing foreign players has perhaps led to good British players slipping down to the Championship.
The team selection was a joke, you see this happening all the time. Teams up their game in this competition Klopp wouldn't know that but he certainly does now. A harsh lesson for him and unfortunately it's too late and we're out.
I think that what he is finding out is that our squad depth is a joke. The players that he thought could cover his first eleven cannot....to a man. We're 5 senior players short because many of the kids and experienced pro's simply aren't good enough. The starting eleven today was not good with hindsight but what choice did he have really? Players like Henderson, Milner, Lallana, Clyne have all looked tired recently....many of them are carrying injuries. He had to rest them and he should feel comfortable to bring some of the squad in......he now knows that outside of his first 11, we are bereft of quality. I can see a major cull of those players this summer and not before time.
Also our supposedly very good players only seem to be able to produce the goods within a certain team. Change that and they become totes ****e again.
When its our only option are we prioritising it ???? And by league I assume you mean trying to hang onto top four ? Been teaching all day got course for next two weekends was birthday otherday got people round tonight the majority of which are utd fans !!!!!!!
We are only not totallyout of battle for fourth because they have been cup games. We have been found out and we are not addressing it. Have not seen game today but dont need to as saw swansea game and plymouth games. Teams have realised how to play us and we are not changing anything or look like we have even tried anything new. Dont think we will but it would not surprise me if we won both games against spurs and chelsea be ause they might actually try to attack us however we will lose to hull inbetween and then the subsequent games. It is up to us to find a way to break these teams down and unless we do we will lose more points than we win i the second half of the season.
We only played one lower league side in both cups with Klopp last season [Exeter who we whacked at home] so this season's been his first experience of lower sides upping their game.
I gave him the benefit of the doubt as I thought he meant back to prioritising the league. It's clear that's what Klopp's done.
It is what it is. We're out the cups and despite a couple of poor league results, we're in with a shout for top four. Fact is, at least 90% of would have taken this position before the season started. Why? Because very few of us truly believed we could actually get top four, we just wanted us to challenge for it.
