If we are not careful we could go 6 matches without a win at Anfield or worse 6 defeats in a row. The players and klopp better get their act together and quick.
Theres not even the basics getting done. Lucas today first half was pathetic. The amount of times you could see acres to run in the channels over the top was ridiculous. We always took 5 touches then wondered what to do. First goal was down to selection and stupid foul. Second was just stupidity thats been consistently seen in our midfield and how we take corners. The fact wolves cold defend 1/3rd the width of the pitch and laugh was pish. Oh and origi is useless. Firmino is more interested is whitening his teeth and getting highlights tha preparing for games.... ejaria is so ponderous... wijnaldum was as bad... gomez was pish... its nonsense.
We've had a poor 7/8 games - luckily for us, half of them were cup games. Time to prioritise the league and get back on track!
Poor team selection, even worse team performance. We have been sh!t lately and teams have taken advantage, but fair play to Wolves, they were the best of the bunch. Completely outplayed us the whole game and were unlucky to only score 2 goals.
First of all, well done Wolves - totally deserved. Could well have been more, in fact. Depressingly familiar now - I said after the Swansea game that I feared him putting the kids/reserves out against Wolves, and they were barely good enough against Plymouuth. Losing on Wednesday made this a game of more importance than Tuesday, imo, so why on earth do it? The worst that could happen on Tuesday (and probably still will) is that we drop out of the Top Four, but now we're deservedly out of two cups in three days. Are we clutch at the Mane straw? Do we expect to now surge up the table when he comes back? (I certainly don't). The worst thing about this predictable January is the total realisation and confirmation that we have so much weakness in depth, and that out starting 11 isn't that much to write home about either. Woodburn is a kid and there's hope; Ejariah is a somehow ****ter version of Carlton Pogba; Gomez MAY improve with game time, but that remains to be seen; and how the **** is Can a first team regular? Jurgen looks utterly shell-shocked and bereft of ideas. So, in truth, are we all.
A week is a long time in football eh lads? Pardon me if I am smiling right now Is Mane back for Tuesday? #onemanteam
Rather we have a bad January than a bad April/May. We have had a bad patch, no doubt, but there's PLENTY of games left to rectify the situation. We are 2 pts off 2nd, its really not a disaster and Coutinho is still getting games under his belt and getting back to full fitness while Mane will miss a maximum of 2 more games (?) then he'll be back to boost our attack. Yes, its been a pretty terrible month but as @Jimmy Squarefoot said, its mostly cup games we've played poorly in, we haven't damaged our league position that much this month despite the results. Bring on Chelsea and the rest of the season
Lineker dissing Klopp in Twitter saying he doesnt understand English football and showed no respect! Harsh words
He played a strong team in the LC and kept his promise to the younger players to have a chance in the FA Cup Klopp says he takes 100% responsibility but players have been given chances and wasted them, so they only have themselves to blame when they're out of the squad next season, replaced with new signings to help with CL
This is Klopp's first serious test since restructuring and all that when he took over although that's kinda ongoing, when does it ever ****in stop with us, but you know what I mean. First proper hole he's been in. Interesting to see the response. Lineker normally is fairly sound so would have to see his full comments. That type of game today, we keep running into the same problem the same way which does show maybe a lack of understanding. I still think some / quite a few of these players a total gash though, not up to standard, and that's a serious problem and not helping.
There was not much difference in our line up and Chelsea's line up today. It just shows that we cannot compete with the quality in depth the likes of Chelsea, City etc. have as we don't have the money to spend massive wages on back up players like they can.
I think it was all avoidable. Honestly when we got bundled out of the EFL by the Saints the priority was to stay in the FA Cup. In fact, I would put even stronger. It was essential that we didn't get beat and that meant putting out the strongest side possible. That is not being wise after the event, I said it at the outset before the match. Our strongest side would not get beat and we would at least arrest the run of defeats. Now we are in the back foot and getting beat by Chelsea would mean 4 defeats in a row.
