Just what must people think of Trump and May. Trump crawls back on his torture claims, and May is falling over off her high heels to not get involved with the dispute with Mexico. The two questions that they found most difficult to answer came from UK journalists. Is this showing just how easy it was for Trump to get elected?
I must take you up on this one Leo. Would it be sexist if a female poster on here said that she could imagine taking that Tristram, whatever his last name is, out for a drink ? Is it sexist to say that someone of the other sex is Fanciable ? Genetically speaking we are born for flirting - throughout history the best flirts have always had more chance of passing their genes on, so it is deeply built into our psyche. The problem is that English men have an inbuilt difficulty with this. Now, Leo, we come down to the real reason for Brexit. The English man cannot flirt effectively......he normally gets drunk, thinking it will help with this necessary preliminary process, but normally it doesn't. Hence he has no fear for foreigners taking our jobs, or lowering our wages, but rather that they will charm away our wives and our girlfriends. According to the Ukip posters the Rumanian men have oversize instruments and want only to take our women. The Italian man is also a threat in this respect - because of his eloquent chat up lines, which Englishmen would rather die than utter. The Frenchmen are also seen as 'highly suspect' in this respect. So now we know why more men voted for Brexit than women did.
I've had a pint with my local MP - Eilidh Whiteford. It's not something I'd do too often though - the beer up here is not the best...
I've had a few beers with quite a few Australian MPs, but would would be too embarrassed to name some of them. One in particular is a former PM & was my boss at the time - a nasty piece of work but I had no choice... No pints mind you - in Queensland in particular, it's normal (and advisable) to drink 10oz glasses only.
All of mine were decent politicians, and not from just one party. One was a deputy Prime Minister who was very socially aware and did lots of good work outside of his normal duties.
We had a hold up about if we should build a new power station at Hinkley Point, and it was decided to go ahead to stop the lights going out. Now I read this. Britain’s first nuclear power station in two decades will be delayed by a government decision to quit Europe’s atomic power treaty, experts have warned. Ministers revealed on Thursday that Brexit would involve the UK leaving Euratom, which promotes research into nuclear power and uniform safety standards. The UK nuclear industry is critically dependent on European goods and services in the nuclear supply chain and their specialist nuclear skills. Leaving Euratom will inevitably increase nuclear costs and will mean further delays. Without mentioning Hinkley, the French state-owned company also warned that restrictions on the movement of people because of Brexit could delay delivery of new energy infrastructure. It just goes on and on.
Just how much sovereignty does a homeless person have ? It was obvious all along that Brexit would mean pulling closer to America, but did anyone think about that when they voted ?
Sovereignty is totally unimportant in an ordinary person's life. Before brexit and no doubt in 5 years time we will no longer hear it mentioned.

It will be taken for granted because it is a right that most people around the world enjoy. A bit like one's sight, not an issue until its gone.
