Kenny said he would have a chat with Luis last week before the Sunderland game. I think that chat will consist of " How you feeling, we can rest you if you want or if your feelin tired" And Suarez will say , " No , I wanna play boss, I hate missin games, I feelin fine" IMO , thats how it will go, Id be very surprised if Suarez doesnt start on Saturday
I hope he does, he is an exciting player, but cant see it myself. Personally I think you will go with either: Henderson, Adam, Lucas, Downing Kuyt, Carrol or Downing pushing up as a front 3
I hope he does, got him in my FL team! If he can do what he did to them at the Stadium of Light I'd be happy.
I think he will start, we don't want to be taking chances in the first game, those 3 points are a must.
i would rather he's ready for the Arsenal game. If leaving him on the bench at home to Sunderland is taking chances then we haven't improved like we think we have. He may well be fit and i love watching him play, so happy to have him in, but i'm sure Kenny won't rush him.
I think he'll start on the bench. Far better to bring him on than to find that he's running out of steam after 50 minutes - or worse still pick up a silly knock.
Or; Kenny; " How you feeling, we can rest you if you want or if your feelin tired" And Suarez will say; " Que? No hablo Ingles" Kenny; "You're in"
This is just my opinion. Kenny will see the Sunderland team and will see that Wes Brown is playing and will put Suarez on the bench.
Why is everyone talking as if he his recovering from injury!!? Suarez had his summer break earlier in the year when he was banned, he was AWESOME for Uruguay and is probably our fittest player! He is back in training and should 100% start, if we go 2-0 up then take him off.
Henderson, Adam, Lucas, Downing Kuyt, Carrol or Downing pushing up as a front 3 ........... the last couple years have proved we can't compete for the top spots playing people like lucas, hendreson is worse imo team should be adam.....gerrard/meireles.....aquilani......downing carrol.....suarez
^^^^ This indeed, we should start EVERY game with the same intention - make the starting 11 strong enough to establish a good enough lead so that fragile/fatigued/recuperating players can be subbed once the points are safe.
I'd be surprised if Suarez doesn't start on Saturday. I definately want him starting as many games as possible - one of the few players we have that can make something out of nothing, a real match winner.
Thats a great idea, play a left footed CM on the right wing, an injured Gerrard in the centre or an injured Meireles in the centre. Daglish, a man who knows far more about football then you or I ever will rates Adam and Henderson. Expect to see them play
That's my view also - I am in 2 minds as to whether i think Suarez should start. It is vital to get off to a good start, but also vital that Suarez stays fit all season. A very tricky decision, but one i am sure Kenny will get right
I don't think he should start. Why risk him? Its Sunderland at home. I'm not worried about him getting burned out and I made this point on another thread that he's like Dirk Kuyt and Jordan Henderson, he's a slow burner. His stamina levels are outstanding. I would be more worried about him picking up an un-necessary injury. If he played say 20 minutes of the opening game, did a full week of conditioning work next week and then was unleashed from the start against Arsenal it would be better. It may even be the case that he doesn't even come off the bench against Sunderland if we are comfortable.
suarez wouldn't be the first player who couldn't understand a word kenny says and he wouldn't mistake it for english
It's been 2 weeks since he last played, I believe. By Saturday it will have been around 20 days. Nearly 3 weeks. I'm sorry but 3 weeks for a rest? Suarez should not only be raring to go but he should be in the best form of all our players. He's not injured, nor is he lacking fitness. He's had plenty of time, why risk 3 points on the opening day? I'm not convinced of the reason for him not playing.
Bed him in gently, let him familiarise himself with the newbies for an extra week and then unleash him from the start against Arsenal. Give him a taste of it against Sunderland and let him cause havoc the following weekend.
