True but it still makes sense for them to try and get as much as possible. I know of it was saints I'd want them to do whatever it takes to maximise price.

 

Yeah, his price just goes up and up. I shouldn't think a club in world football won't want him in the summer. A combination of our healthy financial state, intense demand for the player and 4 years remaining on his contract it means the power is firmly in our hands.

My personal view would be to say to VVD that we want one more season out of you, then you can go to the club of your choice providing they pay £60m.

 

And I think he's perfectly happy to stay for at least another season, going by the noises he makes. It's clear he's extremely proud to be team captain.
