He is highly intelligent so that rules a few out. dedicated Tory rules more out. He listens to his wife (you all need to decide). He Loves the Rangers so that could be anyone.
Well I'm glad to see the triumvirate is intact and that you can always rely on each other for support. The last words were yours so let's move on.
In occasional observation mode, preoccupied with some real world stuff, nothing Earth shattering. It's surprisingly therapeutic. Ouch.
Saw this on Facebook and was moved by it. Replace Trump with Brexit. I listened as they called my President a Muslim. I listened as they called him and his family a pack of monkeys. I listened as they said he wasn't born here. I watched as they blocked every single path to progress that they could. I saw the pictures of him as Hitler.... I watched them shut down the government and hurt the entire nation twice. I watched them turn their backs on every opportunity to open worthwhile dialog. I watched them say that they would not even listen to any choice for Supreme Court no matter who the nominee was. I listened as they openly said that they will oppose him at every turn. I watched as they did just that. I listened. I watched. I paid attention. Now, I'm being called on to be tolerant. To move forward. To denounce protesters. To "Get over it." To accept this... I will not. I will do my part to make sure this great American mistake becomes the embarrassing footnote of our history that it deserves to be. I will do this as quickly as possible every chance I get. I will do my part to limit the damage that this man can do to my country. I will watch his every move and point out every single mistake and misdeed in a loud and proud voice. I will let you know in a loud voice every time this man backs away from a promise he made to them. Them. The people who voted for him. The ones who sold their souls and prayed for him to win. I will do this so that they never forget. And they will hear me. They will see it in my eyes when I look at them. They will hear it in my voice when I talk to them. They will know that I know who they are. They will know that I know what they are. Do not call for my tolerance. I've tolerated all I can. Now it's their turn to tolerate ridicule. Be aware, make no mistake about it, every single thing that goes wrong in our country from this day forward is now Trump's fault just as much as they thought it was Obama's. I find it unreasonable for them to expect from me what they were entirely unwilling to give.
May has been superb on her visit with Trump so far. An absolute triumph. She is derided by some on here, but she is doing brilliantly so far, in what is possibly the most challenging period any PM has faced in a long time. What she lacks in personality she more than makes up for with conviction and determination. Her speech last week about leaving the EU was a triumph and well received even among remainers. The next two years will be incredibly difficult for her but I can't think of anyone I'd rather have to guide the country through to life outside the EU. She is a colossus compared to the likes of Corbyn and the ridiculous Tim Farron.
Spot on. May is a private person but a well thought out thinker. All the commentators/reports have said that she has done really well. A few on here have knocked her and some referred to her as 'Vile'. I take those comments as wide of the mark and lack of understanding in the political world. Give credit where it is due. So far she has done a fab job.
I don't think many people who doubt May (myself included) will see a speech and an overly hasty trip to the US to meet the most aggressive, racist leader of a Western country in the modern era (who WE should put to the back of the queue on principle) as evidence of doing a great job. It might be that she does a good or even great job but, to me, she hasn't done much at all yet.
Trump and his bunch of anti-establishment billionaires are hailing May as if she was the architect of Brexit, when she was actually supposed to be on the other side. Let's see what kind of trade deal we get from 'buy American, hire American' Trump. At least she has the NHS to offer up. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/u...hs-us-trade-deal-brexit-torture-a7548156.html
In an attempt to avoid thinking about today's result too much, let's look at something Donald Trump has just done. He's signed an executive order for 'extreme vetting' of people travelling to the US from certain Islamic countries. The primary purpose statement in his order references 9/11 as the initial reason for this decision. Saudi Arabia, Egypt, United Arab Emirates and the Lebanon are not among the countries on his list. These are the countries that all the 9/11 terrorists came from. You'd think they would be the ones he'd care about most. They are also countries where the Trump Organisation has business interests - that he no longer runs, of course...
I think Trump doesn't always think about things and shoots from the hip. This is always going to be a delicate area to discuss. I think he maybe wrong doing this but I don't have the information that he has.
But he will allow Christian refugees in so all th Muslims have to do is have a haircut and shave, buy a crucifix and learn a couple of hymns and in the can come.
I think Americas great democratic system of checks and balances has gone a little askew. The checks are bouncing and the balances are off.
