National express the way forward. Going to and from Victoria, so about a 25 min tube journey away. The 25 mins on the tube will save 2 hours in the car park.
Yeah agree on STH's without doubt. It's after that that it goes a bit wrong imo. Seems they've taken the opportunity to sell more memberships and tickets for next home games which is understandable. Like we say though you can't please everyone. Points system would be better from next year though imo.
It beats the 1976 system of vouchers, where I missed one home game all season, that was the Voucher match! Luckily, I did get a ticket in the end, but it was more by luck than judgement. My sister worked with one of the Saints players' girl friend and it came via that route, having wasted hours in queues and failing to get one, it was with immense relief I was able to enjoy the best day of life, so far.
Train and hotel booked (staying over on Sunday night, we're going to enjoy it whatever happens!). £28 return on SW Trains and then a £2 bus fair from the hotel. Sorted.
I got one in the very last batch of 50, thanks to a mate of mine who queued half the night whilst I was swanning it back to Uni. No vouchers as I'd missed most of the season because of being in Norwich. I did manage to get to most of the cup games though and did actually set of for the FA Cup qtr final with a Bradford supporting mate, only for the car to break down about 20 minutes out and still in Norfolk!
Even before United were confirmed hotel rooms near Wembley were going fast. We're staying a little way out and bussing in.
Well I booked a hotel 10 seconds after the final whistle and my mate at Wembley has just come back to me with a VIP ticket. I shall now go and quietly mess myself.
Oh no, I'm repeating myself. It was kind funny I suppose. A clapped out old mini which I remember pushing for quite a while. The thing is though neither of us had tickets and yet we didn't doubt for a minute that we'd get in. Did I ever tell you about when I got into White Hart Lane free?
Oh to have a mate at Wembley! We'll be doing it in a bit of style I hope but nothing like a bit of VIP. I know not everyone will agree, but you get to a certain age and well, you know......
Train tickets booked! I had a scare yesterday as agreed date to leave job was set as 24th Feb... which meant start of new job was 27th Feb, the day after the Cup Final... oops. Luckily current company have now said 17th Feb!!
Exactly... can you imagine turning up bleary eyed, unshaven and stinking of beer for your first day at work Hello Boss, Hic
The the most impressive thing about this cup run is that Claude has used a staggering NINE academy products and they have contributed massively too. The future of the club is very bright indeed!.
