Wasn't it just? Painfully pro-Liverpool with a grudging acknowledgement that Saints actually won.
And Phil Brown's view of the so-called penalty appeals was just embarrassing.

Off work today. Just having a late breakfast, then I'll watch the highlights again before doing something productive.

    Life is sweet.

FF save is worth rewinding a few times. Strongest finger tips in the world!

Shay Given (sp?) said that he texted Fraser to congratulate him, but he was having none of it and said, 'But what was I doing before that.' He was still crestfallen after the game, so I don't think he feels good about it...he'd rather he didn't have to do a fantastic fingertip save.

What, I'd rather see the big man spooning it than not getting anywhere near it like we have witnessed throughout Nov/Dec. It was a great recovery.

Having watched that save a few times, the initial fumble was more forgiveable than it looked. The way modern balls squirm about in the air, who'd be a keeper? Unless you take a catch completely cleanly, there's always a chance of it spinning away from you.

Anyway, the way Fraser swiped the ball out of the goal with his giant paw reminded me of a conversation about bears I'd had the day before with a friend who just got back from Canada.

It looked like a bloody miracle mate. From that moment on, I was convinced our goal was blessed.

I must admit, I was nervous, but actually said to myself eventually that this is going to be one of those games that they will never score. Then I stopped myself as there were 15 minutes left :)

Anyone else think think that, in hindsight, 0-0 would have been a little anticlimactic? That goal is quite simply one of, if not the most epic of my time supporting Saints.

Bit mixed for me, as they have bought the last three players who scored there.....was hoping for an OG! <laugh>

100% with you. The emotion we got as Shane scored in front of our fans was what did it for me. It gave us all the opportunity to go absolutely mental!

I spent the entire 45 minutes of the 2nd half muttering "we need to score to make sure of this". Shane took his time before he heard me, and I still don't really believe that happened. I was row 3, to the right of the goal and right in line when his shot hit the net. I can never remember celebrating a goal like that. Total ecstasy...

I know this is tempting fate, but I honestly can't see Liverpool buying Shane Long, although they must be one of the few clubs he's never played for!

They do have a reputation of buying No.7's that are into their 30's..... :(
