Nahh I dont think so. 4th as Red Bull would have told Webber to back Button up. To allow them to get 2nd and 3rd and with Alonso leading that would have been 4th for him, 5th even if Hamilton's Fuel level wasn't so low.
I'm a big JB fan but I think you have to be one of the fastest driver car combo's to win in the dry! He isnt as fast as Alonso, Vettle or Hammy (especially over 1 lap) and it affects his Quali and hence his race! He has proven that he can overtake (wet and dry) but I just dont think he is fast enough week in week out to win over the other great drivers on the grid! However, the fact from the tread that he has been on pole or inherrited the lead can be said for alot of Hammy., Vettle and Alonso's wins! I must say that JB at Monza 2010 was one of the best drives I have ever seen from him! A car that was lacking an immense of top line speed (due to set up) and could only be jumped in the pits by an alledged faster Alonso in a much faster car!
I'm a very aggressive driver, i like to manhandle the car through the corners, and have the back swing out on me as i put the power on. I usually use a controller for offline races, and a wheel online, just to test myself.
I completely agree with everything said. If you watch the Mike Rockenfeller crash at le mans, he flashed the amateur ferrari numerous times, to signal to him that he was coming through, yet the ferrari seemed to be in no mans land, unsure of what to do.
I am really pissed off with people just taking the biscuit on here and not debating properly, I can name a few names but I reckon they know themselves.. People should respect all the drivers as equal whatever their flaws maybe. Considered I was one of the first nomads in the F1 forum, I don't like the sarcasm myself and other users are getting.
I respect every driver on the grid. Even though I might bash JB from time to time and hate Alonso, they are in my top 5 drivers. Regarding Schumacher, I think he is a legend in the sport, any record you name it he achieved it. He is not the greatest of all time in my opinion, but he will be the most successful ever and every time I see that orange helmet before a quali session or a race, I think can he deliver, can he produce magic like he did so often in the past, at the moment the car isn't there. I would say Rosberg is faster by about 4 tenths, but who cares because they are not challenging for race wins so no real indication there, because when it could come to races Rosberg could be a Hamilton and Schumacher a Button, and they would be closely matched due to Rosberg raw speed and Schumacher technical know how and strategy decisions. I hope this doesn't start arguments... My top 7 drivers: Hamilton Vettel Button Schumacher Alonso Sutil Heikki
I do wonder what would have happened had hamilton had more fuel. Sure he would have avoided the painful last laps but would he have made such quick progress up the field if he was heavier? As for Button i say 3rd for the reasons you stated but i think he would have got by Webber. On the topic he can win in the dry as Monza 10 and Monaco this year have shown and i believe he will do it for McLaren at some point. The fact he often lacks a bit in the dry will make the chances less frequent than for Hamilton but of course he is able to win (also for the first time now since Jenson joined, McLaren seem to have a car fast enough to win normal races. Even Lewis dry wins have been unusual mostly Red bulls crashing into each other, canada tyres etc.)
I owe you an apology for really insulting hamilton. He is a top driver, and i can admit that now, He is probably equal with Alonso in driving ability, and only a little bit behind in being the most complete.
Thanks mate. . Forgive and Forget I suppose. I would agree with that. If he can drive like he does without getting so many DNFs(through his own fault not mechanical and also use his head when being interviewed and also just tone down his aggressive driving style especially when wheel to wheel) then he will challenge Alonso for Most Complete Driver on the grid.
A forum is a great place to express an opinion isn't it! And of course it is inevitable that opinions will vary.
As well as he did, I just cant rate any wet wins in '08. The Mclaren had by far the best car in the wet, the Ferrari was terrible. The gap was probably more than the Red Bull had in '10
What can Lewis do?? He can't give Ferrari that advantage back by slowing down. All you can do is just drive your best which is what he did. If Ferrari have a terrible car in the wet it's not his problem.
