My old late lamented mate, known on here as Channon Walked on H2O, and I both loved the City of Liverpool and counted so many Reds among close friends. And in that perverse logic of football fans we loved nothing better than beating Liverpool. Mainly because it gave us bragging rights for a while. He'd have loved it last night. I rang his Liverpool season-ticket holding son on my way home. In typical Scouse style he hid his real feelings by saying "Thank God dad wasn't there tonight. He'd have fed off this for the next decade." He then added, "But now do you mind ****ing off." I then got a text five minutes later that simply read,"Saints were brilliant over the two games. Now beat United." I still can't grasp the enormity of it. So yes, bring on United. We'll have 'em!
The sudden surge of armchair United fans on Twitter from the far reaches of the world saying "well done runners up" has made me want to win this game so much. Liverpool fans were doing the same, I guess United didn't watch our games with them.
The match is presented as Manchester United vs Southampton. Whether that is simply alphabetical order at this stage I don't know.

Arrive London 10:25am, return leave 23:00.......BOOKED! So then which not606ers want to meet up in the big smoke for a drink/lunch (I owe u FLT) and a sing song ? ...I better remember to get a match ticket
If I go I'll be going national express. Best way for me for London games. Won't be booking yet though. This is going to be a loonnnggg couple of weeks If all goes well I'll definitely be up for few drinks and singsong etc.
Hope saints do some deals on the away shirt. Always questionable singing red army when we play in black, and I'd imagine one end in black and grey would look quality.

Isn't that always the case anyway.? Especially in the media. Whoever faces us in the PL from the top 6, it seems as though we're always the unspoken opposition, not the main team, even when we're playing at home. For example, last night, Liverpool basically played an opposition. Pretty much all the pre-match media images and articles were about Liverpool playing another club. Only when it looked like we were going to win did they even up the coverage, and then suddenly make it seem as if Saints overcame the best team in the world, when in truth we are perfectly capable of beating any team, on any given day. There's nothing really special about Liverpool. It was the occasion that was special. Having said all that, I'm glad if we're in black. We've put together some stonking performances in the Away kit in recent years. And to be brutally honest, I prefer this season's Away kit over the Home kit anyway, though neither are memorable.
I like the black kit - wonder if it'll give ManU nightmares in memory of their grey kit. By the way, still smiling
