...which begs the question why he picked Adebayor over Soldado, because if you ask anyone who has the better attitude, few (if any) will say Adebayor.

It's worth mentioning that Roma are playing a similar formation that we do this season, albeit in a different way: they have a back three of Manolas, Fazio and Rudiger, where it's the job of Manolas and Rudiger to deal with any players who are coming for them, as both of them have a similar style of play to Ledders as they read the play and tend to stay on their feet, while Fazio is there to deal with crosses and high balls into the area, protected by two of Nyarlathotep, De Rossi or Strootman in midfield.

Reports were circling that Lamela supposedly wanted a return to Roma (stemmed from the club giving him permission to seek medical help out there, I believe), Erik has seemingly responded to those rumours:

There's a story going around that Shanghai SIPG, managed by Luis Andre de Pina Cabral e Villas-Boas, made bids for Kane and Rose.

The story also says Kane rejected the offer faster than you can say AVB's full name.

Kane was quoted saying some really encouraging comments yesterday, not sure if it's stemmed from this supposed bid from Shanghai or not but here's what he said:

"I would be surprised if any of my team-mates were to leave now,".

"Something's going on here, we're just missing that last step - to win trophies. It would be stupid to leave now.

"We have one of the best managers in the world, perhaps the best. Soon there will be a new stadium. The future is promising."

I think that this is where we've lost a lot of players in the past and failed to attract some big names, to be honest.
People need to feel that they're progressing and the club is, too.

Hull Hotspurs have accepted a £10m bid from Burnley for their star player this season Robert Snodgrass. Once again they've weakened themselves at the same time as strengthening a direct rival and have 5 days to find a replacement. Are they mad?!

That's ridiculous. I'd be livid if I were a Hull fan. The club's an absolute mess. £10m in this market is peanuts, too, Snodgrass is a very decent player, Burnley must be laughing.

He wasn't much good at Norwich iirc. Lengthy history of injury problems too so maybe he's just 'doing a vardy' this year? Either way though it is ridiculous. Sell him in the summer if needs be - why ditch your most in-form player (also their set piece taker) mid-season and let him go to a rival?! Madness.

Can't say I really saw him much at Norwich but I did see a bit of him at Leeds where he was a cut above. From what I've seen of him he seems a tricky player with decent set piece ability and is definitely Hull's best attacking outlet this season, he could probably play at a top 10 maybe even top 8 side. Hull somewhat deserve to be relegated just for being so damn stupid, first Livermore now Snodgrass... Idiots.

Interestingly, most of the lads on the Hull board rate Livermore as decidely average and aren't too bothered to see him leave. They prefer Hudd and Mason in the middle which on paper I guess I agree with as you get more creativity and spark without compromising too much on the toughness and steel that Jake brings. But still, he's a damn sight better option to have than anyone they'll be able to bring in. Knows the league well and had settled there nicely.

West Ham have had a bid agreed for Snodgrass...so they've gone from £3m to £10m.

That's an odd one. I wonder why that team's been chosen?
It's a new "franchise" ( <doh> ) and he'll be alongside such luminaries as Brad Guzan, Kenwyne Jones and Tyrone Mears.
They start playing next month and the season runs until October. Might be a factor?

Anyone think that we're going to sign a player in this window?
Will there be any disappointment if we don't?

I can't see us buying anyone. We're still a couple of players light on where we should be and it will be interesting to see where we go in the FA cup and EL and what sort of team we put out in later rounds of those competitions, if we get there. There's been nobody moving elsewhere that I'd want us to have gone in for.

It's been rumoured that we were offered M'Baye Niang and passed on him. On loan, maybe he might have been worth a punt with Vincent Janssen not making the bench at the moment?
