    Ref Adam;

    He played the full game, but went missing right from the start. Wonder what he's thinking this morning, in his big house, in the nice area where he feels no attachment. Money don't by happiness.

    My brother was saying "Sims? Bring on a defender!"
    Still thinks he was right. I think that Sims is going to be a star in a few years.

    'Southampton's Shane Long - who scored the winner in last night's 1-0 victory over Liverpool - gave away his shirt to a young fan after hitting the youngster with a shot in the warm-up.'

    Not a bad souvenir. Great gesture from Shane. :emoticon-0131-angel

    Just watched the highlights on the OS so I could get the benefit of the Blackmore/Merrington wisdom. My favourite bit (apart from the euphoria over Shane's goal) was Adam describing Fraser clawing the ball off the goal line with his "long, albatross-like arms". That tickled me for some reason!

    I hope you weren't taking my 'Adam' question seriously. I was aiming for the ironic,

    I thought the Sims sub was a good one, I just wanted someone on to track Milner as he was glued to the touchline in our half, and although we would back ourselves to deal with crosses they'll hurt you eventually. Sims had the pace to keep our shape but get out to Milner very quickly, really restricted that outlet and left them a bit directionless towards the end.

    Just watched the highlights again, still nervous! I absolutely love the Radio Solent commentary. Adam Blackmore is seriously good, I actually teared up at the end.

    Forster's 'save' is probably the worst ever attempted save followed by possibly the best ever. That was seriously fingernails kept that ball out.

    Also, I haven't seen this mentioned, but credit to Hojbjerg for his run at the end. It definitely drew one defender at least away from Sims.

    Can I say I told you so about Sims now? Or is that being too much of a twat? :emoticon-0105-wink:

    I think somebody joked last night that he was running in the opposite direction from the attack, but you're right, he definitely split the defenders who managed to keep pace with Sims. Long came from nowhere, what a run he made!

    When Sims got towards the halfway line, I was screaming "Long is going, Long is going" and then ten seconds later I was running around the room, hugging my son and screaming, "SSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEE" AND "OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD, WE'RE GOING TO ****ING WEMBLEY. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS!"

    Wife popped her head round the door to give me "that" look :)

    Being the pessimist I was shouting "Corner flag, go to the bloody corner flag!". followed by "YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!"

    Then a lot of coughing, almost passing out from it. Sat down arms aloft and tears running down my face. So sad, a 47 year old guy tearing up over a game of football :)

    I think you are doing him an injustice. He was obviously bored as Liverpool had done **** all to score at that point, so he thought, "What the ****! It worked in training, might as well give it a go now." Did you not notice that no defenders ran in to help - they knew. They were probably thinking, "Fraz you dick, you weren't supposed to do that until the Final."

    On notice period, I don't know how you'll even get 1 minutes work done today. I can honestly say I have not been able to concentrate at all at work. I have shedloads to do, but you know what...it will wait until tomorrow :)
