Peter Lorimer for me,awesome player in a team of legends. Also when he came back for his second spell in the 80's he was immense even though he was in his late 30's. Trouble is it showed how far we had fallen in less than 10 years.
underated by many Speed the four midfield we had then i would kill for now Batty Speed Macca Gordon...... the Fantastic 4
Dare I say it..... When I was a young lad (OK younger) my best player was Cantona !!! Obviously I cant stand the scum now
he played 28 games for us scoring 9 goals. Dont give me that balls he won us the league as then he was mainly a sub. If i'm correct his first senior appearance was as left back replacing Dorigo? Most overated contribution to any title winners ever, his attitude sucked he was moody & unliked behind the scenes. knew what to do with a football though the twat!
3 goals in our title winning season, 3 in the charity shield the next season & a hatrick when we thumped a poor spurs side 5-0 Its Manure fans that said he won us the title no one else. Sorry rant over, cant stand the fella.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sN0UXeaVv84 let us never forget the darker times when someone stuck by us through thick and thin. never the best player we have ever had but, ANDY HUGHES IF ****in BRILLIANT!
It's between the two who managed to break into the Revie team in the recent YEP poll, for me. I think that says it all. It was great to see Lucas Radebe come through and look every bit as good as the top German and Italian defenders in Europe. Nigel Martyn was almost the perfect goalkeeper. He was calm and assured, took crosses with ease, was great with one on ones and penalties, and made breathtaking acrobatic saves. If I'm being forced to pick one then I'll go with Nigel.
Beckford! Since I started supporting Leeds I've seen a relegation and 2 playoffs losses, so the most consistent player throughout that was Beckford.
