Neither Sturridge or Origi are suited to our style of play, if we're going to play them it should be in a 442 where they have space to run in behind. I don't think it was down to individuals last night though.

TAA worked hard credit there, Matip also did nothing wrong, think he got skinned once.

With our defence being constantly exposed, even when we were doing well, it seems a DM would be a good idea that Romeu (spelling) did the job really well last night.

This is the underlying problem - our attack masked a lot of deficiencies at the back and in midfield. Now both are exposed.

We essentially need to replace Hendo - I know everyone will bang on about Can but his role to support the defence and attack - he was really good defensively yesterday, won the ball back a number of times. He can still do more going forward but he's 23 and the first time he's playing in a more offensive position. What I can't stand is how he is singled out but other players have played just as poorly if not worse but don't get criticised. It's as if he held to a higher standard.

Henderson is the deep lying playmaker - people are saying he's not fully fit. That may be the case but I genuinely can't see any difference in his performances. With the exception of Matip, we have no other defenders that can play the ball. This means that our DLP needs to get on ball create. Henderson simply cannot create - I just stand that he gets praised for being tidy and playing quickly - doing a one touch pass back to the centre backs or full backs is not something to be praising.

Someone mentioned something about the fear in players - there is one man this is 100% applicable to and that's the captain. He's unbelievablely cowardly in possession - also I've seen on a number of occasions when Matip tells where Hendo should pass it.

Klopp has one week to overpay for the players he wants. I don't care. We are ****ed without Mane.

I agree with some of that, Can certainly wasn't it worst player last night. I wouldn't want him in the DM role either though.

I have to point out once again that the crowd were **** last night along with our players, all I heard was Southampton fans all night, there was a half arsed attempt at YNWA on 89 mins. I've no idea what's wrong with our fans, they are now a bunch of sing when we're winning types.

They were up for it before the game, when they greeted the coaches.

I do agree but the players have to give them somethng to cheer about.

We're useless when we have possession- slow and mundane.

They were quiet from the KO though, I think it's a nervousness we're desperate to get back to winning ways. I just wish they would enjoy the game and go there to sing and support the team no matter what happens. I don't get it myself, the place used to be bouncing no matter the opposition or occasion.

This is our main problem at the moment more than the individual players.

Players have to perform now, otherwise some unfaithul supporters are going to be calling for Klopp's head.
Bad time to have our bad games.

It's the same at all the big clubs nowadays, better atmosphere at a relegation battle.

It would be embarrassing imo, we need to leave you alone. I think we need a player of his type.

I'll join in then. I have no idea of the vintage of Liverpool fans (the finest Red no doubt) but I am certain last night must have brought back harrowing memories of Nottingham Forest in the League Cup semi-finals of 1978 and 1979 for some of you. However, the hoodoo did not persist for ever, nor will Southampton's. Your main hoodoo are the Mancs (sorry Londoners) .... "Mancs" support Manchester City, n'est-ce-pas?

This is where j disagree. Hendos job is not to make outrageous forward play. He is the holding midfielder to protect the front 4. He may not be doing thay properly but to expect him to be pinging balls out and making incisive play isnt his position. It is the job of the other 2 cms to bring the play forward and dictate the play.

Hendo winja lallana were doing fine on the early part of the season. It might not be totally cans fault but since hes come in everyone has noticed how slow the play is. Hendos earlier exploits have given him credit in the bank and people have been criticising him for his misplaced passes.

I guess we'll need to speak to Klopp to understand Hendo's role - but I do believe that Hendo is the deep lying playmaker because he's not great defensively so putting in DM role doesn't make sense.

Out of curiosity, has Can played when Mane Firmino Coutinho started?

As mentioned before, the attack carried the team. Now everyone is being exposed.

Don't get me wrong - I don't want Can as a CM, but more of a DM. We need to bring in a couple of quality CM's.

Re. Hendo - he got a lot of praise for what exactly? Passing stats? All he does is play safely - he's recently started to be more adventurous but gives it away. He's incapable.

Praised for his tackling? His tackling stats are still the same. There is no difference. He adds nothing to this team, and the past performances have confirmed that. The difference between him and Can is that one is held to a lower standard than the other. Can has to have a 9/10 performance whereas Hendo only needs a 6/10 for fans and pundits to rate.

Personally - I think both should be competing for the same role in the team. Can't have both.
