With 'Pool crashing out of yet another domestic cup competition, I thought it would be an ideal opportunity to test the water with this one. Basically, I want your views on who you think has been 'Pool's worst manager since Benitez got the sack? Personally, I think they should have stuck with Hodgson for a bit longer, as he was probably their best manager (but wasn't given a chance to shine). Rodgers didn't do too badly, imho. I think it's a toss up between "king" Kenny and Klipperty as to whom is the worst 'Pool manager of all time. I have my reasons for either choice, but would like to see what you lads think, first. I know this is likely to be a highly emotive subject, since we have a handful of Mousers who post on this board, and we all know how emotional they can get when us neutrals try to offer constructive criticism about their club. I have no wish to prevent Mousers from posting on this thread, but I would ask you, please, to adhere to my usual strict NO WUM policy. Thanks.
Lets talk Spuds may be? Poch is no better than Harry or Juande. So don't talk like Spuds have the best manager ever
TBH, mate. It's pretty clear that Klopp's chosen style of play and your defence are always going to leave you open to what Saints did last night. With better finishing they'd have killed the game before halftime.
I don't think it's a style of play thing. Southampton were right on their game and had a great balance, they didn't just shove everyone behind the ball, they were also looking to get at us and the work rate from them was superb. Everyone is now on about us being found out, I don't see it like that. When we've been in form our work rate, pressing in numbers and speed of pass is there to see and that's what's changed. We're playing much more slowly and we don't press in numbers or work hard enough. The chemistry between the front 3 is gone through injury and then Mane missing. The only consistent problem is that when we chase a game the defence gets exposed and that's something we need to sort out.
I think that's onky part of it. A quick look at the league table shows that you've conceded 27 in 22 games. Only City have conceded more out of the top clubs. And their defence is utter ****e!..
Our defence gets exposed in this system and needs better protection, Hendo is decent on the ball but doesn't offer much protection to the CB's. That Romeu lad did it well for them last night.
Reminded me of Spurs when they were getting all them draws and you just look at the team hoping someone will step it up but it just does not come, plenty of the ball though. However we were getting away with draws whilst Pool are losing by the odd goal because we got a decent defence. Disjointed performance. Sturridge always wants to perform for the cameras, would not want him near my club too much showy ****, get the fackin job done.
I don't think it's our individual defenders. You lot have Wagamama sat in front protecting them, we need the same.
Pease keep on topic. We are talking about 'Pool's worst manager of all time in the modern era, not Spurs' failings in the Milk Cup. Thanks.
