Bloody quality match, felt so proud throughout but when Long scored I was overwhelmed!

This is what footballs all about, forget winning every match and going on a losing run, as I've said before, we are 3 points behind this time last season so why get too worked up about it. This season we have had a storming run in the EFL cup against premier league opponents and now have a visit to Wembley with a bloody great chance of winning!

Mr Puel is using youth players through all of this as well. A few on here said we would be happy to finish mid table, have a cup run and see more youth players getting games, I said the exact thing to my brother. We are getting exactly that and I for one think that now we have sorted the Fonte situation out, we will have a good end to the season.

Well done to everyone who has played a part, they have all been fantastic!

In a word - brave. Lesser managers would have played, say, Bertrand out of position rather than put faith in a young centre back. Other managers would not have risked putting on Josh Sims when all we had to do was see the game out. But how he was rewarded.

Never in my wildest dreams in over 50 years of supporting this club that drives me mad, would I have imagined I could stand at Anfield and sing about going to Wembley. Never been happier to be a Saint, and I'm so looking forward to meeting my Red friends and relatives over the next few days.

What a day. New contract for Oriel and getting to Wembley. Best semi-final win of all time for me.

Another youngun steps in and doesn't look out of place. Hesketh, McQueen, Sims, all snatched their chance so well when the opportunity arose. Credit the academy, making players better is one thing, getting them ready is another trick entirely.

Heard a fellow northernsaint talking to a mate tonight. His experience mirrors mine in that so many fans of other clubs are in awe of our academy. I know all the jokes about feeder club and all that, but my god don't we knock them out. That Sims run and lay off was so mature. Stephens was magnificent. And let's not forget that that Ward Prowse bloke is one of ours too.

4 southampton academy graduates played a part in the match with a 5th an unused sub on the bench. Not bad going.

Amidst all the praise being heaped on the young players, the magnificent defending, the hard work of the midfield - stand up Nathan Redmond. You shut up some doubters tonight. You ran the buggers ragged especially in the first half, and worked yourself to a standstill doing your defensive job.

But Shane Long too might get overlooked in the excitement. The way he took his goal was sheer class. If he's playing with a player who runs at a defence and gives him a ball to run on to he will smash it. Hate to be picky, but the ball to him wasn't perfect, yet he turned it into the opportunity with great skill. Oh and how we loved that magnificent finish.
