Honestly how the feck do you know they didn't want to be here? The mess has been caused by players not been offered new contracts/a lack of negotiation on contracts because rehab has zero brains. Why the hell are all the players on short term contracts ? Why had he not given Harry or robbo a new contract? Oh wait it's because they are being sold!!
Less than that. Ehab might actually sell him for considerably less. You're the one guessing about specific figures anyway, I don't do that.
I can see a lot of people trying to put a brave face on and try and see some positives. I guess that is typical of City supporters, we just have to put up with whatever stuff happens. Grin and bear it and keep on supporting the team. It is just so sad when the team spirit has been so good and now we have new loan players coming in who won't really care about the club. I hate these transfer windows.
That's simply not true and I'm pretty sure you know it. Pretending there's a lack of serious buyers is something you see from the same few names on here. Coincidentally the ones that have always found a reason to defend the Allams...
How the feck do you know they wanted to be here ? Livermore said he wanted to be away and Snodgrass wanted security despite having 18 mths left on his contract. Would you give a 30 yr old with a dodgy knee a four year plus contract at £30k plus a week ? The players are not on short term contracts they are on PL contracts until the end of the season with an option to buy at the end. Harry and Robo have contracts. You say they are being sold ? Are they ? told you personally did they ?
Who are these 'serious' buyers then ? How may have actually put any cash on the table ? The only ones who have then failed the PL fit and proper persons rule and funny enough they have just failed it again when trying to buy Reading. I'm defending no-one, I'm just posting as I see and not what I want to see.
You really want me to list the other prospective buyers even though we all know who they are and why their bids never came off? If you're interested in that, go back and look at the other threads where it was discussed. All that matters on this one is that your claim there's no serious buyers was completely untrue, and only made in a desperate attempt to defend the Allams.
Discussing this on threads on a supporters message board doesn't mean to say that you know what was going on though does it ? You were not at the meetings personally, you were not privy to any information shared or afforded and I seriously doubt if at any time you have even exchanged one word with or even knew who these 'interested parties' were. Therefore you are basing your arguments on here say, make believe and rumour. I'm, just pointing out that the only serious buyer the club have attracted and who put money on the table were the Chinese who failed the PL fit and proper person ruling at the start of the season. They have also just failed in a bid to buy Reading. That is not here say, make believe or rumour.
You quite obviously see what you want to see. There's been at least three serious interested parties with big money offers. All of those that we know about have walked away after getting nowhere with the Allams. The Allams want us to believe that they want out and that there's just no one else interested. It suits the image they've wanted for years of being our benefactors that we're so dependent on and would be lost without. They're scared of the idea of us being successful and happy after they've gone. When serious offers have come in they don't know what to do. Ehab finds a way to sabotage it every time though. And of course we're supposed to believe that it was the buyers' fault on each occasion. After all, it's always someone else's fault. The few people that believe this situation is the truth are the few people who said of the name change "it's his club he can do what he wants" and of the Airco "it's just a few fat birds, can't they bounce somewhere else" and of the ASI fund "he can spend it on the away end if he likes" and of the concessions "ah but our adult prices are a bit cheaper" and now as our best assets are sold "it's OK they were **** anyway". The same few names pop up every time the Allams rear their ugly heads, defending them whatever they do. We all know who they are, and their attitudes are as predictable as anything every time. For these people, everything the team has achieved on the pitch is down to the Allams, yet all the ****ed up stuff going on is the fault of the council, the authorities or other fans for daring to speak out against the regime.
I'd be delighted TC I'll happily say I was wrong and that we've probably strengthened not only the squad overall but perhaps the first 11 too. If happened AND they all gel and we stay up then I'll gladly contribute to a massive banner of Marco walking on water. What will be your response if we don't? To be fair IMHO the conversation now boils down to those posters who believe/hope we'll do cracking business in the rest of the window and those that fear we won't. Whatever the outcome we'll know by this time next week.
If you want to believe everything you over hear in the pub then that's up to you. And there is nothing you have posted above that isn't based on here say and rumour. It's obviously you see and hear what you want to hear. So I beg to differ with your view.
Peter Grieve bought an off the shelf public company to buy Hull City. It had no capital and he had a minority share in a small bank. He walked away when asked to buy the SMC for £6 million. I'd say he wasn't a serious buyer. That feeling would be reinforced if his intention was to put Nick Thompson in as chief executive. Chien Lee was a serious buyer and walked away. I have no idea why but suspect the Allams wanted too much money, aided and abetted by our slide down the table. The Adam Pearson consortium are waiting till the end of the season I suspect to see which division we are in. Finally the Allams sold the club to the Dai's but they failed the fit and proper person test. The Allams will sell when they get the price they want but not before.
