    What a fantastic half. If selling Fonte has led to this massive change in attitude and all this slick counter-attacking football, then fantastic.

    Puel is quickly growing on me.

    I'd love to win this (we should) but the way we are playing means even more to me than that!

    Redmond has looked terrific. There were actually two occasions there (that led to the two big chances) where had he been a massive twat, he could have dived. He didn't, so good on him.

    Right, should the unthinkable happen and they score, I *might* go the the pub WHERE WE ALWAYS LOSE because on one occasion it was the pub WHERE WE WON IN THE SECOND HALF BUT WE NORMALLY LOSE.

    What a fantastic performance first half with the obvious exception of poor finishing. It must really frustrate the Kop that no matter how many of our players they buy we still look better than them. Clearly every thing changes when they get a goal but whatever happens no moaning or whinging - just togetherness. That half has more than earned it.

    The decision to play JWP and in particular Davis has really helped us on the counter. Even though they don't exactly add much going forward in terms of creativity, they do move the ball much quicker than Clasie and Höjbjerg.

    Puel has done well in his team selection, but also in terms of tactics. They were always going to dominate possession, but we have let their centre backs have the ball and then press when they pass it wide or into the midfield.

    A goal on the counter, which looks plausible with Redmonds pace and ease of taking it past a man, and we will be in top shape.
