Some thoughts on Robert Snodgrass.

He turned us down: he turned down what would have effectively have been an 18 month extension to his current contract. He not unreasonably wanted longer. A 3 year deal in the summer would give him an extra year's wages. Same as an extra 3 and half year deal now. The extra year would be worth upwards of an extra million, maybe more. I'd say he wasn't being greedy just sensible.

He doesn't want to play for us: the only evidence of this appears to be his refusal to sign a new contract that only gave him an extra 18 months.

Why has the club announced we've accepted an offer? Perhaps it was because Snodgrass was injured and they are trying to force him out. Tomorrow should give us a better idea, especially if he's in the squad against Manchester United.
A 3 year deal is all clubs like us will offer. nothing unreasonable about it.
If he'd played **** this season he would happily have signed a 3 year deal.
Advice from his agent: ask for as much as you can and I'll get you even better from another club. Its his pension plan. Its business. He's still a **** for going, if he goes, he owes us.

Is Marco Silva Ehabs Secret weapon ?

I cant see any decent manager standing for a club selling its best players when in a relegation fight and being short on players

Anyone half decent would have been furious and walked away especialy if no money was going to be spent.

Was Marco brought in for 6 months to carry out Ehabs orders

I guess we shall find out when the window shuts if no one is bought
Don't be so ridiculous! Your seriously suggesting that Silva would come here to happily get us relegated and damage his reputation!? Give it a break!
Question!
Why does nobody consider the fact that maybe Silva doesn't think Snodgrass fits in his plans and is cashing in! Obviously according to a lot on here, that's not possible but I beg to differ!

I'd just like to thank Robert Snodgrass, most sincerely, for the way he has repaid Hull City.

The Club looked after you for, what - 14 months, when you were injured, with what looked to be a possible career-ending injury.

THANKS A LOT, YOU UNGRATEFUL TWAT.

Now that's the truth of it, Stan. The **** was always off, it's what he does.

MS has already stated at the press conference this morning that Snodgrass would not feature in the squad tomorrow night

We're back to "invitation to treat" vs "offer and acceptance" again. When purchasing goods that are for sale the offer is from the purchaser. You can go up to the till (or email online) and offer a price different from the listed price and they can either accept it (binding contract) or tell you to do one.
exactly
that is the law when that is all that has been said
what some people may be getting confused by is the reality of certain offers
when somebody makes an offer for a footballer it will almost certainly be subject to agreeing terms with the footballer and a medical not showing up any problems
when putting an offer in for a house the offer will always be "subject to contract" meaning it's not a legally binding offer that has been made
people will certainly want to do a search and a have a survey before a contract is exchanged
somebody can't wildly claim that a contract isn't a contract until it's been "confirmed" because that is just nonsense

A contract isn't a contract until it's been signed off by both/all parties though.

I'm more bothered about us letting our best larker go to one of our close rivals in the table. For some reason, I have this confidence in Marco to get the players in that he needs and that he will get the best out of said players. It just seems stupid of us to lose Snoddy to a rival. Losing Jake was at least slightly better in that WBA are safely in midtable and it doesn't feel quite so much like a sideways move.

I agree
If somebody says "I will offer you £10m" and the other party says "I accept" then that is a contract. There's nothing else to do.
If somebody says "I offer you £10m subject to agreeing a payment plan" then that isn't an offer in contract law because the other party can't accept it unconditionally.

Exactly! Money was there! It was just the Allams whether it's right or wrong, didn't agree with Steve Bruce's targets and were unwilling to let him blow cash and get us relegated again!!

It was 19.5 million spent (2nd lowest in the league)
Sold Diame for 4.5 million

Taking the net spend down to £15million.

Not to mention losing Aluko, Diame and Ryan Taylor off the wage bill.
