They don't do mine in Polly, it's their game now - what I grew up with has gone, there's no real joy in it, I get more of a buzz watching g'son play. Some of 'em do make me giggle with there ideas though.
It appears that when buying players from abroad the media scrutiny is a lot less. When anything happens here between two English clubs its all over twitter and Sky Sports instantly and there seems to be constant updates. We never really knew much about any of our signings until they were booked in for their medicals/doing them. Fans like hearing rumours/gossip/updates etc but when they don't hear much many seem to assume that nothing is being done.
Disappointing that Snoddy appears to be on his way especially at the price muted .. but I can't help thinking that MS must have been consulted otherwise why bring him and his team in .. it has been suggested that he likes pacey wingers which in all honesty Snodders isn't.. and likes to play at pace .. which we sadly lack in the team. I'd mention earlier in the thread that if bids came in around £10m then we'd probably accept it and alas it appears to be the case .. my fear is that the money received is not reinvested and MS and his team walk ... I'm prepared to wait to the end of the window and reassess where we are at that point but we'll definitely miss Snoddy's goals and set piece delivery unless of course the proverbial rabbit is pulled out of the hat
Id have thought that a doctor would advise against ppl throwing hissy fits and raising their blood pressure and not JOINING IN!
I still think he'll end up at West Ham. They have to blink over Payet and signing him will be their excuse, offering a chance to save face.
Oh they do mine in, along with loads of other stuff. The day things stop doing my head in is the day I'll lie down and fade away!
If a player wants to leave your powerless to stop them. You just have to get the best price possible for them. Not letting them leave doesn't work as you generally still lose the player but don't get the fee
It is really starting to feel that we are a rotting carcass, and the vultures are picking the best parts of what is left.
Snodgrass won't go to Burnley. He'll stall until West Ham match our asking price and offer him the big pay day he is seeking.
Don't think MS is Ehab's yes man. He's here to enhance his reputation which he will achieve if he keeps us up. He'll then be free to move in the summer to wherever. Even if we go down, if a decent fight has been put up it won't do him any harm. Perhaps he looked at the squad and thought we were almost certainties with the personnel we had. I don't think he would have wanted to lose Livermore and Snodgrass but maybe he sees a bigger picture. Making a stand by leaving after the sale of those players wouldn't have done him much good to prospective employers.
Tend to agree the only problem is if he holds out till the last moment of the window will it screw up any moves that MS makes for replacements
I think it's a huge shame that we're selling Snodgrass (because of his goals and set-pieces), however, I feel like it is more than possible for him to be adequately replaced as, as some have mentioned, he was often poor defensively, sometimes turning away from tackles and often failing to track back. We performed well enough against Chelsea without him that I don't think we need to panic before the end of the transfer window, however, if City fail to find a decent replacement, then I'm more than happy/ready to get really pissed off about it.
I actually do trust in him, it is Ehab I don't trust. Having said that why get rid of Phelan and bring in MS to save us going down, and then sell our best players. I can only hope that MS does have a plan that Ehab will allow him to expedite.
He won't be Hull City player this time next week. However it's a case of waiting until Boro or West Ham match the deal. West Ham want to shift Payet first as it'll weaken their negotiation position if they've already sourced his replacement.
it does not matter how good the potential new players are,Snodgrass should of been told to wait til seasons end. As our most effective player it makes no football or long-term business sense to let him go. If Silva wanted to keep him and he has said he does then he should of been backed by the owners. The cash was just too tempting for ehab...
