Would be a great signing. And I hope you're right genuinley I do hope you're right.

At this point of the season in our situation. I would always rather stick with the person who has proved they can hack it at this level and score goals in an abysmal team than risk it on a foriegn player who might not make the grade.

This Genk guy, by all acounts could be an amazing signing and I really hope he is.

Here's hoping we can sign 4-5+ players (not on loan) in the coming days.

45 players should just about be enough :emoticon-0142-happy

It's ridiculous we're selling to Burnley, but I don't blame him for jumping ship. I don't blame any of them. Look at who their bosses are.

I can't find the post, but someone on here ventured that the Allams are 'cashing-in' by selling players. There's now around £17m net from sales.

Will it be re-invested or will we only continue to get loans in? I thought the notion was to augment the squad, which is far too thin, but it does look as if we are selling and loaning, so far...

Maybe the picture will have changed by the end of the next six days. If not, it may well be apparent that Deathcab is recovering the Allamhouse loan, bit by bit.

I mentioned it tuther night but was told to shut the **** up by the FM boys.

How is his view deluded!?

Steve Bruce blew a ton of money and then got us relegated, then won promotion and asked for more (as any manager would) but if you had handed a transfer kitty to a manager and he blew it and failed, would you be as willing and TRUSTING to give him it again?

Mike Phelan tried his best but even the Allams could see he was out of his depth and again, given the choice of picking signings who would you rather give money to (maybe not transfer money but loans cost too) mike phelan or Marco Silva, I know who I'd have picked.

I think his points are totally valid.

Bruce was fantastically successful. He was instrumental in brInging real quality to the club as a manager who could attract big names.
He left as he was shat on, nothing to do with him not being trusted with cash. There was no cash.
When we took MP on we had no other option we could afford and it's quaint but rubbish to think we had a master plan to get MS.

The general premise of the original post is: we had a plan. We didn't. We had a disaster caused by a lack of credible ownership decisions and chased the situation as it unfolded. To think otherwise is deluded.

It takes new players months sometimes a season or two before they come good. Time which we obviously don't have.

I'll try to reserve judgement until the end of the window and if that looks good then the end of the season.

But if we are relegated then this mess is a large percent of the reason.

Is Marco Silva Ehabs Secret weapon ?

I cant see any decent manager standing for a club selling its best players when in a relegation fight and being short on players

Anyone half decent would have been furious and walked away especialy if no money was going to be spent.

Was Marco brought in for 6 months to carry out Ehabs orders

I guess we shall find out when the window shuts if no one is bought

Football manager brigade - my personal term of endearment for our younger, knowledgeable in all things footy, element ........ they know who they are, bless their naive souls.
Righto. Yeah, they do my head in, too. Not always just young ones, though.

I just read 23 pages or thereabouts to find that we have sold Snodgrass... Differing opinions, I see both sides, but if selling him and Livermore gets 6 in and I can see the quality MS has found already, then as has been said, the time to judge what we might have to go to war with is in 6 days time, not today. As for selling to a competitor, for as much as Burnley appear comfortably placed, if you were a player, would you want to go there... Is the Burnley dynasty a potentially long term one. Hardly enthralling football they play, he's not going to improve is he!!! For me, if he wanted to go fine, but should have gone an played with better players at Spam. And as for loyalty, there is none in football...
