seriously i can't see a duck egg on our side of the sheet. I think we will need 3 or 4 goals. If we get 2 goals great but if we do that say after 30mins (the ideal) can you really see us off a set piece if nothing else not conceding to this lot.
I agree that Lallana needs to play from deeper, he's had a lot of joy, also agree with Wijnaldum on the left but can't see how we then have Can and Hendo? Can should be dropped for us to go back to earlier in the season when the formation and players did so well. This is why I think we should go Ojo as a direct replacement for Mane instead of the Studge or Origi replacements that mean our style of play changes. As I posted earlier... Karius TAA Matip Lovren Milner Hendo Lallana Wijnaldum Ojo Firmino Coutinho That's us back to our early season formation and importantly our style of play.
Well you can always put SS2 on then if it's SS1 you just click down one Channel then Boom! You have the game. #happy2help
Ok so my opinion 1. Coutinho must play left side as normal. he cuts in and if left room shoots. Put him anywhere else and thats negated. thats that slot taken care of 2. Firmino is **** anywhere but CF. so play him CF. out him at RW and he will be **** 3. Neither sturrdige no origi deserve a start. this hurts us 4. I agree with above Lallana must play RCM 5. Matip must play. so..... the real issue here is we don't have an RW (for tracking defensivley) and we don't have anyone who gets close to clyne and drives him on. We have failed to address this in any game we have played without mane.
This is my concern with the team I'm picking, will Ojo track back? As someone pointed out though TAA and Ojo play in the U23's together so they should know each others game, I think it solves a lot of our problems and we should give it a go Ojo gives us the direct pace we lose with Mane gone.
he's a bit raw TBH. He will a bit but... its too much for two kids one of which won't last 60mins. If clyne is actually out (i doubt it) then I'd ALMOST play milner rb and moreno left until i remember moreno is worst player of all time. The thing i'd say about ojo is he is left footed to playing him right makes almost more sense to our formation as there is no point crossing in anyway. I'd rather try ojo with clyne behind him than see can lumber about again. the thing is... as a kid who was out for months directness and pace may not what he can bring to the table. but then again thats up to him isn't it.
Of course Clyne plays if fit, my main point is to try Ojo as a direct replacement for Mane instead of the already failed Studge and Origi experiments.
Yeah anyone really that gets us back to 3 forwards that will move and interchange. Studge and Origi stop that movement.
Southampton are coming putting ten men behind the ball, defending like mad and protecting their one goal lead. They are going to sit back and counter attack. We need early goal.
its a big ask though. I sort of think an ibe type (ojo) might help today in that he might stay wide if southampton try to defend.
Lala back to RCM immediately makes us better (even if he isn't yet 100% match fit ) whoever plays RW. The shame is the injuries & ACON occurred when some of the back up players stopped playing .
I'll take a goal on 89mins and extra time if thats what's going to get us through. we need patience and faith in the plan... we fell apart v swansea as we did v bournemouth.
I don't think it's that big an ask, he wont be playing in a team of youngsters, there will be experience around him.
