I know people will ask why no JWP after his performance on Sunday, but I think he's more suited to games where we dominate the ball, which certainly isn't going to be the case tonight. I also think Clasie played really well in the first leg, and will be good to have some fresh legs in the midfield.

I thought by the time this game came round they would be through their little slump, but they are most definitely still in it. Lost their first home game this season at the weekend and only managed 1 goal in 180 minutes vs Plymouth.

We can do this... Wembley is calling.

I wonder if he's been told by the powers that be that it's preferable for a United Liverpool final

 

I bet once we finally sign someone on the 31st, it will be revealed that we managed to get them for a million quid cheaper because we were patient and willing to wait until the final day of the window. And everyone will applaud the board for doing good business. Meanwhile our season will be completely ****ed.

To not strengthen the defence after Fonte's departure, being on the verge of Wembley, is simply unbelievable. Puel deserves much, much better than this, I really feel for the bloke, because you can be damn sure it will be him that gets all the stick if we go out. And the players deserve better. After the Europa League shambles, the board should have come out and said something like, "Sorry to all the fans, we take responsibility for that. We will never let such a good opportunity slip through our fingers again."

I know that sounds daft, but I'm simply lost for words. If we keep a clean sheet tonight it will be a miracle. I'm trying so hard not to lose my temper and write a load of naughty words, because it's always a bit embarrassing afterwards. But if we lose tonight, I might just have to stay off here for a while. Losing games of football I can handle, but the self-destruct tendency that the board seems to have adopted is too much. Completely mugging off the entire fan base.

VVD out could give our boys the siege mentality. Here's hoping.

Can't remember who it was against many years ago when Richard Dryden had to come on in a big game at CB, Jason Dodd said that all the lads heads were dropping, and as he ran on RD said "have no fear triggers here", that they all cracked up and just knew we were going to win. Well boys, tonight we have no VVD, but have no fear.

 

There is nothing new under the sun for we flogged him off too. A good player and all round sportsman, it was a shame his career was cut short.

 

I'm not sure what you aim to achieve with a post like this. No need to make that sort of comment. Let's focus on supporting the team eh?

 

I am just hoping for two things:

1. We go through

2. If we don't go through, by whatever means, the fans on here accept it and don't go off on a multi page rant, like I'm expecting. Nobody envisaged losing VVD one game after Fonte went.
