One 'source' (I think it might have been Adam Leventhal, Watford fan who works for Sky) has said it's a loan deal and he will be covering the Pereyra position. If Ighalo goes, we'll bring someone else in - been more rumours about Hogan at Brentford, for £15m
No disrespect to Hogan, but that highlights the problem with 'buying British' - they are just too expensive. £15m for a player from a lower division is simply nonsense.
I don't really want us to get Hogan, and wonder if the rumour has come about simply because Ighalo is rumoured to leave, and West Ham have seemingly pulled out of the deal - so imagine it's either the press putting 2 and 2 together, and getting 5 - or it's the players agent putting something out there to get a move for his player. Apparently Pulis has now come out saying we want too much for Ighalo. Not sure if it's a move to try and unsettle him into pushing for a move... but good, if he can't match our valuation, then go elsewhere!
I just saw a report indicating the Mauro Zarate transfer will not be announced until after the Fiorentina v Napoli cup match as Zarate is banned for one cup match after being sent off in the last round of the Italian cup. If he came to us before the cup match he would still be suspended for one cup match, namely Millwall v Watford.
According to this, Wet Spam are still interested - and are about to match our bid as Hogan would prefer to go there than come here. Stuff him I say... http://www.football.london/west-ham...ews/west-ham-reignite-move-brentford-12492527
Personally still think the rumour linking him with us was agent-talk to force West Ham's hand... He doesn't seem like a Pozzo signing.
Agree that he doesn't 'fit the mould' - but do find it odd for the paper to say that we have lodged a bid which matches Brentford's valuation.
Exactly - to say that, I think it's just agent-talk forcing West Ham to move on the issue. I don't believe at all we have made a bid - and most definitely not at their valuation. It happens a lot... a team cools on a player so plenty of speculation about rivals bidding to get them to come back in for them
http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/watfordfc/watfordfcnews/15041572.Watford_on_verge_of_completing_Zarate_deal/ "His arrival means the club will have to shuffle their squad at the end of this month and take out a foreign player to accomodate him." I wonder who will go? "His debut at Watford is set to be delayed though after picking up a three-match suspension for being sent off in the Coppa Italia this month against Chievo Verona."
http://sportwitness.co.uk/watford-transfer-talks-progressing-fee-needs-agreed/ Oulare could be off to Turkey - loan with a view to buying in the summer.
Zárate will miss the Millwall and Arsenal games due to a suspension to be carried over from a red card in Italy.
Mirror Sport are saying the Ighalo £38m move to China is back on... http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/watford-striker-odion-ighalo-could-9686229
Or just 2 FA cup games depending on what the FA say....hence, supposedly, the delayed announcement, so he can miss a cup game in Italy and reduce the suspension by one game. http://www.hertfordshiremercury.co....0079071-detail/story.html#ZklpB0I38DcAiew4.99 Clear as mud!
Sky reporting we have agreed a deal for Milan forward M'Baye Niang, Loan with a £13m option but; Watford Observer @Observer_Owl #watfordfc want to sign forward M'Baye Niang but are some way apart from agreeing a deal with AC Milan Replacement for Ighalo, if he does go..?
