Watched "Mad Dogs" pilot last night. Amazon drama/dark comedy series. 4 men go see their friend in Belize who is retiring young. Then things go dark. (Won't spoil what happens incase anyone watches it... Although, @moreinjuredthanowen I will tell you they all die in the end.) First 45 mins was rather dull and cliché guys in paradise partying crap. Had a hard time believing a bunch of 40 something year old men listening to modern dance music in a club where bodies are packed so tight you can't move. ... Then the last 10 mins things got dark and interesting. If the rest of the series is like the last 10 mins of the pilot it might be worth watching. If it's going to continue with 45 mins of filler mixed with a few minutes of interesting stuff it won't. Oh... Probably giving up on another drama, Sneaky Pete. Just not that good. Idea had potential and it has "Walter White" playing a bad guy, but just not very well put together.
Critics Consensus:Mad Dogs boasts exciting twists and a rich landscape, but occasionally squanders its talented actors on stale midlife-crisis observations. From Rotten Tomatoes Probably worth a watch, I'm sure it recently finished.
Yeah, she looked nice but her acting seemed like it would belong on something my wife would watch though... She has that cheesy acting style like they have in non serious soapy dramas like "once upon a time" or "Providence" or "Grey's anatomy". Chick shows all have the same style of really cheesy acting and she brought that to Sneaky Pete. (No idea if she's been in any chick shows but based on her acting style I bet she has)
Yeah they do. They all descend into total **** where is all about everyone getting married and then dying off and crying
Looked her up, woman I'm referring to is Marin Ireland, looks like she's been around the block with lots of minor roles over the years. I realised you might be referring to the con woman that is on some of the flashbacks with "Pete" not seen much airtime of her yet in episodes insane but she wasn't as cheesy.
I hate Coldplay. Only ever walked out of one gig, Eric Clapton at Hyde Park I'd watched Bob Dylan and Clapton was headlining (no idea how that works) he was dull as ****, watched about 3 songs and left.
Manchester by the sea is getting all sorts of acclaim. Apparently it's about some kid whose parents die so he goes and lives with his uncle and then has sex with his grandmother.
I just found out there the version on Amazon is a remake of a British show from several years ago. I wasn't aware of the British original. Which version did you watch? Either way might be worth finding the original. American remakes are rarely anywhere near as good as the original.
This one http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1652218/ Didn't realise they'd made a new one! It wasn't worth remaking, good enough though.
