How can they be satisfied - to use your own words the verdict was clear. 8 to 3 is not as close as 52 to 48 The government lost. The appeal was shown to be frivolous and cost TM 2 months. They could have prepared any bill back in OCtober or November if they thought they would lose. It shows that Parliament and not the Government is supreme.
That is correct we represent the 48%. You alone represent the 52%. I think that is a shame as I would enoy a fuller debate and someone who could properly argue the brexit case - I think you have not done that as I said but accept it is not your job to persuade us.
I tried to upload the YouGov chart showing increasing majority support even amongst remainers for May's Brexit policies. Most people have moved on from referendum.
To have 3 judges supporting the government's view showed this was debatable and not clear cut. It was a good exercise in democracy. It also showed the British government is supreme in negotiations with the EU. It has promised to listen to the devolved governments but thankfully they will have no blocking power.
Very few people have or are willing to change their minds over the referendum, if anythings views are more entrenched. I was pleased about the result, I am pleased that article 50 will be invoked as planned, and pleased with the plan the PM has laid out. I very much doubt any views forwarded by you or any other remainers on this forum would change the minds of of the majority that voted for leave.
Don't bother - it is only a poll of a few people so nothing reliable can be taken from it. I did see that TM's speech got a generally warm welcome - even from me - but that does not mean I would not halt brexit if I could
Oh please - NOT CLEAR CUT when 27% opposed but in the referendum 48% opposed and you call that clear cut. You hoist yourself on your own petard.
It did the opposite - it showed that Parliament not the Government is supreme. The government are just the executive agency to do what Parliament tells them.
It is clear nothing will stop Brexit, all of the wrecking motions are thankfully falling by the wayside. We need a rapid and smooth transit for the new bill through both houses.

- let's not set our sights too high. We will take respect to mean not being abusive - criticising the point not the person. I think we are a long way from a time when we can demand an answer - each of our posters must choose which things they do or don't answer. I certainly do not intend to answer posts that simply post a long and rambling article that I cannot be bothered to read nor ones where a person fails to make a point worthy of answering. My aim is to prevent the board from being full of complaints about each other and how we post - we can ignore what we do not like and engage in debate with those who are prepared to.
I can only think you have some pecuniary gain in all of this... many commentators say we should proceed with caution and care....
So there I have been wielding a paint roller, while one of the most important issues about our constitution was being discussed. Very pleased that sense prevailed, and the PM was knocked back from her position of believing she was some sort of a Supreme Being. I understand the legal position regarding the devolved governments being part of a Union, not a Federal State, but cannot now see how she can achieve her aim of bringing the whole of the UK together, let alone half of the population. It was made clear in the judgement that the legislation to hold the referendum, did not include any provision what to do after it was held. It therefore cannot be said that the words of politicians at the time can hold any legal requirement for them to act in any particular way. I am sure that this will do nothing to bring forward a politician of real standing who can get the UK out of it's current divided state.
I think the SNP, LibDems and even Labour to an extent will try to make sure this Bill's passage is anything but smooth and straightforward. I suspect the government will need to guillotine a lot of discussion if it is to maintain its timetable. The Lords is an unknown entitiy in this. 100 unelected LibDem Lords ma have an influence -enough to get brexiters frothing.
and of course this is our constitution with its checks and balances..it is about time they frothed away some of this supercilious propaganda
