Alf Ramsey,of Push and Run fame, received or won the ball in defence, passed back to Ted Ditchburn in goal who gave it back to Alf and away went Spurs.
It's the managers who make it boring with their defensive instructions....ala George Graham and Pulis to mention a few!
I'm not sure Ramsey's fame entirely hangs on Push and Run. I feel sure he achieved something else.

I believe he won some cup, forgot the name. It's been a long time now....
I always said "if Greaves had been in the final,we would have won it earlier.......!"

But I used to enjoy shoulder barging the goalie into the net when he held the ball. First Cup Final I ever saw Nat Lofthouse took the goalkeeper and the ball and put them both in the net to score. <badger>
Yes, I remember seeing that goal. Far more entertaing than all of the shirt pulling we get nowadays.

I do too! Bolton v Man U,Just after the Munich crash.United's Irish goalie must have had a red face after that...and a few bruises.
United were allowed to bring in a few new faces because of the tragedy.
This was the start of the medias love affair with Man United carrying on to this day......

To be honest he's due some good news, as so far this season he's missed three months with one of those injuries that never seems to heal, he had to fly to Argentina after his brother got seriously injured, and when he returned to the UK his dog died - and as anyone who ever checked Lamela's Instagram would know, he really doted on Simba, for example...

I rate Lamela and I like Lamela, but he has missed aome rehab sessions because of the death of his dog, which is ridiculous. Sorry if this offends any dog lovers, but that is pathetic.

OS I respect you and your opinion and love to hear from you but until you have a dog you cannot understand that a dog is part of the family and as such one can really be devastated and find it hard as one would a member of one's family- it is not pathetic.

I did post my apologies in advance to dog owners/lovers.

I respect your views too, but in my experiences, dogs are stinky and selfish. No offence meant to anyone <ok>.

My wife is allergic to dogs so it was a very difficult choice to get married or to realise that I would never have a dog again. It was a tough choice! Not only can a dog be a member of the family, but also the one thing that is always happy to see you when you get home after a tough day. A dog has been fundamental to my mental well being (no comment about what I'm like now!)

My dad's allergic to dog hair but he's had huskies, which apparently have a different kind of hair that doesn't trigger the same reaction. They're beautiful and amazing dogs but need an immense amount of exercise.

So you messed up with your choice.
