That isn't the question though! The thread title says it all! And the answer should be simple!
The thread title doesn't say it all though
The OP asked if you'd accept £10m if it was invested to give us a better chance of staying up
So the title isn't really very useful

Anyway I wouldn't accept £10m because I don't think you'd get better than Snodgrass for that (don't forget with fees it'll be a lot less left too)
Selling to a relegation rival would be a double hit
In fact I'd simply refuse to sell him to one of our rivals, get past the deadline and he'll play fine for us

Stupid question.
The choice between a football mercenery or my club playing in the highest league I pick the Premier League.

You cannot blame any of our players for leaving.
There is no leadership, direction or sense of serious purpose at our club.

The players know this. There is no one at the controls, just a scared, clueless kid counting the pennies.
Who would want to play for a club like that when there are other clubs busting a gut to grow and challenge for honours?

I hear what you're saying, but do you really think we're gonna be able to bring in three players for £10 million who will be good enough to make such a difference?
With good quality loans on big money possibly, agreed we're not going to buy good enough players with £10m. Today showed we really do need to bring in someone who can take free kicks if Snodger goes - some of the corners weren't that bad but generally our spot kicks were dire.

And yet the best midfield player we've ever had signed a new contract in the summer. Go figure.

That answer only applies if you're saying Snodgrass' value to the team will be greater than (possibly) three decent players who come in via the cash his transfer makes available.
So let's say we lose Snodgrass and we bring in a fast and effective right winger, a solid centre back and striker who knows where the net is. Would the team be stronger or weaker?

For 10m all on a 3rd of his wages?

No, I think Snoddy is our best chance of staying up, he is priceless for his goals and set pieces, who else is going to get his goals, he would be guaranteed to get more goals. Even worse, to sell to a relegation rival would be like signing your own death warrant, absolute lunacy. Either give him a contract that he wants or tell him he stays for now and can go in the summer, he will still command a decent fee then.

Haven't the time to read the rest, but this just about sums it up and fairly stated. <ok>

My only addition would be that if he really wants to go, then get on with it, get £10M+ and replace with a goalscorer - not easy, but nobody ever said it is!

Anyone who would rather stay in the premier league than keep Snodgrass at the club is a complete and utter buffoon.
