Morning Fosse. Don't be suckered by the media rhetoric, we've no chance of winning the league this season, despite the dream. Top 4 would be a great finish IMO given the quality of our squad depth, especially when the euro games kick in again, plus injuries to key players. It's still Chelsea's to lose and I expect both Arsenal and Chelsea to win comfortably today.
Poch switched it to counter the way City played. The players were adapting to that and that was evident as the match progressed. I don't think there are too many teams that play at the top of their attacking prowess with Pep managing them and with a massive point to prove. Spurs dealt with that onslaught better than 95% of the other teams in the league would have. They threw the kitchen sink at us, we threw the Fridge at them, left them cold and bruised. I'm delighted with that point. Next match Sunderland at home, I doubt any other team has the players and gaffer to play like City did. Top 4 and I'm happy, no one dreaming about the league
A shout out to Wayne Rooney ..a fabulous achievement in breaking Sir Bobby Charlton's goal scoring record. Sir Bobby is certainly one of the game's true greats and to have held that record so long from a midfield position is quite astounding.
Depends on your aims. If it's finishing 4th then it's as you were. If it's title aspirations as a couple of threads on your board seemed to suggest a few weeks ago then it's game over. Also if you are trying to cement top 4 you really need to be winning while others drop points e.g. if you'd won yesterday and united/city drawn then you get more comfortable. As it is, it's very likely you'll crumble
I've always maintained that top 4 is our realistic target. Yes early season we looked like we could go on for the title, but that was me being a bit rash and cheek in tongue, as you were probably aware. For Klopp to take Liverpool into the CL without spending a penny (net ) is a great achievement - we just need to hold on a little longer. Our board will always have 2 extremes on it. I bet (without even looking) that there are handful of people thinking it's still possible, and also a handful of people that are so gloomy they think we'll finish out of the top 6.
It would need to be a big tongue. The cheeks have to get into the tongue Sky. We're talking cheek into tongue ffs not tongue in cheek!
Sorry just discussing why I don't think Can is suited to Klopp's pressing game on the Liverpool board with Can's number one fan.... It's like this
