You are correct regarding the basic textbook angle, angle, angle positioning. Basically, keeper comes out or moves across to narrow the angle in order to A, allow the keeper to get to the ball easier (because of the narrower angle) and B, reduce the vision of the goal for the striker to aim at, this reduces his options to either curve the ball around you, or chip, lob you over top, the latter leaves no blame or fault on the keeper, the former gives you a fighting chance. The first basic lesson is hands and body behind the ball, with emphasis on the positioning of the thumbs, standing save, on one knee save, or jumping in air save (from a cross) which should be second nature to a natural born keeper. My personal view on Barnsley's free kick goal, Green takes a big chunk of the fault for his over animated two arms outstretched attempted diving save, which 10 year olds do. He's suppose to be an experienced keeper, therefore he should know that one handed diving saves give him a bigger percentage rate of actually saving the ball, basically, your body is longer. He was also out of position, too far to his left; all indications showed it was going to be a left footed shot over top of wall, he should've, at the very least been in middle of his goal, thus giving him that extra yard closer to ball to pop it round post. Totally agree with you about Greens positioning, imo he was also out of position for the free kick goal, and his attempted save was a 1 out of 10. While Silvestri may not be a perfect keeper, his mental alertness and agility are far better than greens. While some say there's a communication problem, that should've been ironed out by the coaches ages ago, if in fact there is one. There's no point in Green marshalling his defence if he's going to be continually caught out of position himself. The positioning of a keeper during playoff finals is going to be vital.......
So if I read these posts correctly, we have our current goalkeeper who can't position himself but is an excellent communicator or the alternative stuck to goal line, can't kick or communicate one. Solution seems obvious. Our new investment bank part owners may have to bankroll a new keeper as well as those other additions arriving in the coming nine days
I saw what you did there. Meanwhile cellinos shell co-owner does **** all apart from generate clickbait cos he aint here to progress us, he is here to allow cellino to ride out his ban... Thats all.. Once again the gullible have fallen for it. Whats it going to take for people to wake up? Cellino goes all around the world looking for an investor and finds one that lives right next door and he has known for years... How ****ing stupid do the two of them think we are? Its a scam.
No new thread today, so only place to put this. I see McContract is in the poo again. Missed training because his gates wouldn't shut. Steve Bruce is not a happy bunny. Heyho
for that i was going to mention earlier that cellino said that appointing Raddy was the right time for the club when the fact was clear to see that it was infact the right time for him i just couldnt be fooking arsed wouldnt surprise me if Raddy (who is a very very shroooooood businessman) doesnt in fact own anything
Just another transfer window thread... McCormack has been tapped up again and is doing what he always does in transfer windows... Give me more money or sell me... No club should have touched him after cardiff... Blokes a ****.
**** me !! it didn't take you long to turn on Radz, give the **** a chance to make his mark fo'fuxake
He needs to give us something to believe in. Talk is cheap. Whilst cellino is involved in any capacity we could always be run by better people. It would gave taken three hours to get monk sorted a contract and putting a for sale sign on wood wasnt the act of a club keen to keep him.... According to Rad and crook rad has had sux months in the background so a big splash announcement was very doable!
He fronts an investment bank. When do they do big splash announcements except when their year end accounts show a large profit
Fronts might be important word looking at the rhetoric/action so far. Smiley salad with an italian accent springs to mind.
j come back in 9 days,if we have sold Wood,Taylor, not signed Jannson and Monk up,I will agree with you.
Makes me wonder, if promoted to the pl, how much of the riches will ever make its way into the playing squad. First payout is 25m to gfh, then Radz investment lot will no doubt have to receive some return on their investment. Pretty sure Cellino will also get a decent lump. That's an awful lot of slices the pie will need to be cut into. We might be as well off staying where we are
you are in top 6 every possibility of promotion the reward would be hundreds of millions hands up all those who think cellino has just passed up half of that for what to him is peanuts
But most of that would have happened without Rad arriving anyway. There was no talk of Wood going anywhere until Radz arrived on the scene so holding onto him is no credit to him. Cellino said Taylor wasn't for sale in January so again no credit to Radz if he's still around. Janssons deals been agreed for ages awaiting the 22 game trigger
