Barnsley v Leeds Utd match thread

He ain't hot and cold mate, he's tepid and freezing - I love Leeds, I want every player to well (they certainly didn't all tonight) but I hate him, I genuinely do. Don't care what he earns but please, anyone, show me one thing he did today worth an average working mans weekly wage.

Maybe the opportunity of the Play Offs is a golden treat but I tell you what, tonight we absolutely threw away any chance of top two and that lump is why - game management is beyond players with zero ability.

Could put up with lipstick in goal because at least, occasionally, he saves us but my....... End of, fecking hate that liability of a "winger", "striker" or what the eff he is supposed to be

You are of course right but right now I am furious. Barnsley have played twice since we have and should, and would, have been on the rack if we had managed that through to half time at 1-0.

They deserved that and Doukarra threw it - just useless beyond belief

Wasn't there so just a comment on stats, seems this league remains one where everyone can beat anyone. Derby in my view did not have off day v us, and they are a decent team, they beat Reading today for example. Barnsley up for it and not bad team - only 2 places out of play off spots themselves.

Anyway, on we go

 

We played a game of 2 halves, but the second half was slightly better than most in past.

Watched the Monk interview after game, he said it was a scrappy game, I'd have to disagree with that, unless he was talking about our second half performance.

Seemed to me Barnsley did their homework and were playing us same way as we played Derby.

I think Green should've been out there for Barnsley's first, a punch would've been enough, their third, it was an animated 2 outstretched arms attempt you see on 10 year old kids who've been plonked in goal for first time.

We were slightly below par all game despite taking a 1-0 nil lead, Barnsley played with a mission, they are seriously smelling the playoff places getting closer, and they played like they wanted to taste it as well; they wanted the biggest chunk of sausage this evening, and they got it.

We're probably not going to win every game during the run in to playoff finals, but too many draws and losses will work against us.

Brighton have a 9 point lead over us now, with a game in hand, it's a hard task and ask as the season's end draws closer and closer with every game; if we want it bad enough, we have to continually play like we want the whole sausage, not just any sausage either, prime beef sausage..........

 

Leeds are always crap from Jan - May.
I think the good start you had will be enough to keep you in the top half which will be a great effort for a club of your size considering you are competing against much bigger teams like Newcastle, Derby, Brighton, Norwich, Fulham, Villa & Forest.
