We may not have deserved it but this isn't the last you'll hear about the Walker push. Which is completely different to when we get a decision go against us. City have benefited from rather a lot of decisions against us in recent years - anyone remember when Rose won the ball at our place and City got a penalty and Rose was sent off? So not much sympathy from me. They've spent hundreds of millions on that team. They couldn't finish us off when we had our best two centre halves not playing and no defensive midfielders. And for their first goal didn't Lloris head it against his hand? Might have been chalked off for handball.
I'd say Rose gets a lot of credit too. 3 absolutely brilliant tackles and blocks in our area. Wanyama def our MOTM though. Dembele looked lost again, which is worrying. I think it's time Winks got a run of starts.
I genuinely didn't mind him moving to CB - if anything (especially once I heard Toby off was just precautionary) I felt we needed our best player there. He's so much better than I thought he'd be. Great touch, can run with the ball, tries to play it forward as well as strong, great tackler etc (which I expected) and he doesn't seem as bad a yellow-card machine as I was fearing. Am hoping Walker gets at least an assist for the blatant push! Gotta be worth 3 points, surely. Both sets of fans will be rightly pissed off by the ref today.
He ALWAYS pulls out of 50-50's - actually most 60-40's as well! If he's playing well I'd let him off but he was anonymous today, slipping back into his form of the first 3 months of the season.
Agreed. I've long said that Dembele is a big game player who doesn't turn up for the big games. I challenge you to name a big fixture where he bossed the midfield. The problem imo is that his biggest weakness is his decision-making. He takes far too long to make them, which usually leads to him being closed down more than any other player. His strength and skill usually buy him a few extra milliseconds, but against the top sides that isn't enough.
Walker caught up to within touching distance of Sterling who, let's face it, would have missed anyway.
The Poool are our remaining away fixture against the current top 7. And Everton / Goons / Man Utd similarly at home. So heads down and plough on in between those fixtures.
Partly agree, but he has had a few top games this season - notably the Chavs. The problem today was that he had no support either as a Eriksen was invisible.
Dembele was excellent at the Emirates and against Chelsea at home(arguably at the Bridge too). It's easy to say with hindsight but with Toure's lack of mobility I think we might've been better off with a 4141. Toure either gets penned back or leaves their defence vulnerable. Lets face it, we only needed another shot on target to win 3-2 with Bravo in nets.
Michael Owen saying it was a penalty for Sterling...but at the same time he's saying Poch fouled him for the penalty in 2002. Funny how none of the pundits are using the words "Sane" and "handball" though...
