I recently heard about us in for 2 players from Man Utd, this was when Phelan was here, again I heard this the other day with an interesting twist.
1 was a loan & 1 was a permanent signing, 2 players were mentioned regarding the permanent signing, Young & Carrick, however since this, Young has been linked to China & now with the whole change in rules in Chinese football, that might be back on.
The twist is not the players but where the money is coming from. Allegedly any money spent in this window is not coming directly from the Allams pocket, it is from a potential new owner who should be buying in the summer, dependant on whether we stay up.
Apparently this is the real reason Phelan was replaced, Silva was not the Allams move. Also due diligence has either been done or in progress, but the potential new owners won't officially declare until we are safe.
However there are rumours going round as it is & this isn't even from anyone within Hull City, so I assume the money is showing up somewhere.
If we go down the Allams won't have to pay back the money & if we stay up, that'll come off the buying price.
I assume there are people "in the know", who know more than this
How much of this is reality & how much is just hearsay is hard to say, but it's coming from the same person who told me about SB going, also told me about MP going before it broke, so there might be more to this than just rumours.

Well based on my information of which comes from a very credible source. Unfortunately this is all a load of rubbish.

If you needed proof it would be loan signings and selling one of our best players to raise funds for signing.

Can you tell me what 'next to nothing' is? Loan fees and wages are next to what?

My only point was that have spent to strengthen the squad isn't balanced by the fee for the player we sold. It may be yet of course. The club may even spend more...

A journalist from the bleacher report was on the radio just now saying Hull (sic) had let it be know they will entertain offers in the region of 10m for Snodgrass- I don't know his source.

The most depressing part is that Steve Bruce slowly created a great team with some top quality players with good values. And if we kept improving that squad every year then who knows how we could have established ourselves in the Premier League. Now Ehab is single handily dismantling it in a way that it could take a decade to rebuild.

Leeds, Sheff Wed, Sheff Utd etc

It's the ' different way' Bruce referred to after he had left. It's more commonly referred to as 'ballsing up big style'.

He basically bet against us staying up, by giving odds rather than taking odds, so when we beat Bournemouth we became less likely to go down.
Something along those lines. I'm sure there are people who can put it better than that, but I've just woke up!

You've got it.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Sorry I can't stop laughing at your insistence that Steve Bruce was creating a great team with good values!!! I think good values are what Chelsea look for in players! (Bless him he looks after his mum well, let's sign him) So great in fact it got us relagated from the premier league, wasted a European campaign, then won promotion from the championship by at times playing awful football to watch and no doubt this season would be exactly where we are now! In the bottom 3!

Let me spell it out for some of you,

This squad we have before Marco Silva arrived was largely built by Steve Bruce, this squad was not good enough and neither Steve Bruce or Mike Phelan could see that. The difference with Marco Silva is he can see it's not good enough and isn't afraid to say it!!!

Now the changes he's making come May might not have worked and we may see ourselves relegated but there is one thing that's certain! We have a chance which if you lot got your way and we made no changes and stuck with Bruce or Phelan, couldn't be said as we would be down in 20th place!

I see people on here posting saying things like, the Allams should be putting there hand in there pockets and splashing the cash to guarantee premier league survival! 1. That's never a guarantee and 2. Your the same bloody people who complain when they spend money by saying 'we gonna be doomed if we get relagated' and 'we will be the next Leeds!' Yet when they actually make careful decisions like signing players on loan who if we get relegated are then off our wage budget for next season, you all start screaming 'get the cheque book out!!'

Ehab Allam is a cancer that needs removing from this football club, but and here's the bit most dont get, if you take your tinted glasses off and stop been so bloody negative you will see that for once they appear to be giving us a bloody chance!

We were screaming for change in December yet come January we get
1. New manager who comes with a great reputation.
2. A manager who comes with some great contacts in the European market! Unlike Bruce who signed mostly dross.
3. A manager who is willing to stick his neck on the line and change the team how he sees fit.
4. A manager who is very good at working under tight restriction.

Yet now all those people who wanted change are now not happy with the above! It really does make me bang my head in confusion.

Lastly, buckle up people because unlike under Bruce and Phelan, this second half of the season may just be the most exciting half a season we have seen in a long time. Stop been so negative and let's see how it all plays out!

Rant over

Just one point to note. I believe Steve Bruce did know the squad was not good enough and we needed to bring new players in to take us to the next level or however you want to phrase it. This is where him and Rehab fell out as Rehab wanted to try a 'different approach', 'The cheap alternative' that left whoever was given the job no ****ing chance at all and leaves the overall value and effectiveness of the squad diminished. I am excited about Silva (tempered with a good dose of reality). Exciting second half of the season? Well it will be more interesting than if Phelan or Bruce was here. We are still bolloxed thanks to boy blunder and if you think that is being negative hard cheese old chap.
