    The only worrying thing is, how we going to pay for Obertan, surely we need to find about £3m from somewhere, as we have spent all our money, therefore selling Colo might be necessary. :( :steam: :emoticon-0107-sweat <irony>

    I agree but I suppose it all changes if the club accept a bid. As a player you're basically being told you're not wanted or at least that is how it is viewed in the modern game. Regardless of family and affiliation to a particular club, if you fall out and they decide to sell, you go. Carroll, Nolan etc have taught us that. I just think the link is unlikely because of money. They're supposed to be skint, have two international centre halfs to satisfy, so how they gonna shell out 10m, 50K/60K min in wages and keep the other two happy. Too many things against it purely on a footballing and financial level.

    The worry really is if Ashleys eye light up at the chance to get a high earner off the books, he could cash in, and we have already been offered a cheaper option in Bassong this summer and he would fit into the clubs ethos

    See this in The Sun today, and seeing as they put that Valencia found his "40k a week wage a stumbling block", then there's zero chance of him going to Valencia because he's actually on 80k a week.
