    This is the sort of response I like to an introductory email:

    The next scientific position we will be recruiting for will be to head up our Diagnostics development efforts. I would like to find someone who has experience of taking a healthcare diagnostic test to commercialisation either directly to market or more likely by partnering/licensing with one of the larger providers.

    The successful applicant will need to research and prioritise a pipeline of potential projects, build plans to deliver them successfully to time and cost and ensure the plan is successfully implemented. As we have a novel technology (nano-structured molecularly imprinted polymers, nanoMIPs, sometimes called "plastic antibodies") we will be most interested in projects which make use of the novel characteristics of nanoMIPs in order to bring benefits to the end user and/or commercial partner.

    I should also let you know that initially we will be using the network to try to find candidates in the first instance and will only be able to appoint a search agent if this effort fails. That said it would be good to be lining up potential recruiters and having an idea of associated costs and timelines.

    <ok>

    <sorry>

    Your name is not attached to any of them. Only posted to not 606. Googling your name won't show any of them. (Your photo from LinkedIn is on page one of a Google image search though).

    Even a Google image search for Red Hadron Collider doesn't pull up any of the photos I made.

    I know... But I wouldn't do anything that could come back to you easily. I know you wouldn't want any future client or employer stumbling upon "meet me in the bang shed".

    I'm not talking about the techno-jargon - I don't expect to understand that - it's just the daft bullshitty business-speak nonsense of the rest of it. <ok>

    Still astonished me that despite barely being able to use a computer you manage to work in recruitment. How do you cope with job boards and LinkedIn, ATS's etc <yikes>

    Perhaps he's competent in the areas that are necessary for him?
    I mean, there probably isn't too much call for him to upload pics of landlady's jubblies in his professional life.

    You mean a sort of convenient helplessness? Like women who pretend they can't wire a plug or unblock a sink?
