We've all seen the reports of people starting to fight back against them. People in some of the Asian communities in London and Birmingham have reportadly armed themselves with what they have and fought against the rioters. I've also heard that a group of about 200 people stood with police during one of the many riots. So I ask my fellow 606ers, would you do the same? I know I would although not living in a main city I shouldn't have that problem. Also people in Portsmouth seem to have a protect each other mentality. Discuss. PLAY UP POMPEY POMPEY PLAY UP
That's what people said in Salford, no doubt in other affected areas too. As for living in Portsmouth meaning you're exempt, I wouldn't really call Reading, Gloucester or West Bromwich "main cities" either, but they got hit.

I was thinking that same thing Jip, for the record Hansworth is closer to West Brom than Birmingham City centre so it`s not suprising it kicked off there too. Aparently a lot of the scum realised there wasn`t much to rob in WB and many of them moved to Birmingham instead.
That's very true I'm sure but a) you have to have the numbers and b) you have to actually have the balls to do it. Personally, when it came down to it, I am pretty sure I wouldn't.

The Scottish and Welsh Governments have probably been secretly paying all their citizens £1,000 each so they won't go and loot the shops and they can go on about how they're so much more civilised than we are
Nobody is going to take on a mob of idiots single handed, but if the numbers were equal, I'd bet it would be the looters who back down first.

300+ lads heading to Birmingham City Centre to protect it from looters tonight......though most of the trouble last night was in the surrounding areas. Loads of rumours that asians are heading from all over to batter the blacks in Aston, Handsworth, Perry Barr etc. Not sure how true it is but will be tense between the 2 communities tonight.
I believe the trouble started in Bristol the other night after the early closing of the annual pig fair
