Fryatt and Simpson were both astonishingly poor against L2 opposition last night. Why is this? Simpson looks to lack application.
In general Pearson appears to have forgotten we need goals and attack can be the best form of defence.
Put the £850,000 available for Ayala towards the sum needed for a goalscorer in now. If we get a centre back injury we should look to the loan market.

Well with over 600 professional footballers still looking for clubs and more to be made available at the end of August when the 25 man PL squads are put in there is many to choose from. Patience as always.

Fryatt got 9 goals in 22 appearances last season. I'm still confident he can deliver as our main goalscorer this time round, you only have to look at his record at L****ster to see that he's a proper goalscoring striker.

Simpson was undeniably disappointing last season, but again his record for QPR speaks for itself. People also forget he's only 22.

I have minimal concern for Simspon and Fryatt - they both looked majorly short of confidence last night, and yes missed sitters against Blackpool. But people are being far too quick to judge them as no-hopers, they have the potential to be a potent strike force in this division, and in my view will deliver given time.

But agree the loan market is the place to look, not so sure about free agents the best have gone and most are free for a reason.

Miller is very good at this level, but he's off to Forest for £2m I think, no way will we spend that on a striker when we've bought 4 in a year

We're not gonna be able to afford a proven goal scorer at this level.

i disagree. we have a good couple of goalscorers. we just need to a) give them time, and b) give them service

But how much time can we give them mussie? Simpson has had plenty of time. And as much as i have always seen something in him, it's just not enough.

Simpson was injured in pre-season and only started training again last Wednesday. Give him chance to get his sharpness back

when simpson had the run of goals before he was dropped last season, he looked sharp. i think it is worth another chance to get a run of games under his belt
