I think him being a midget and slightly deformed too boot may have hurt his chances. the fact is every next big thing since owen and gerrard has actually been gash.. most of our successes have bee london kids bought in like sterling. LFC really have done poorly in player development since the foreign managers came in. houllier ended the development an rafa bought in loads of foreign kids.
Well you guys are not stealing players who are Everton fans anymore. The Liverpool fans signed are either Ugly or gust bad!
that is a problem. we should get back on that before you all die out most of them are indeed gust bad. they are journeymen for the most part and right now we've not even a track record of lads finding homes in the pro game to really boast of. I do think the foreign managers import huge amount of young talent and that snuffed out the talent along with heighway getting decrepit and falling out with rafa. Really looking at it brannagan, woodburn and taa are really the only guys who might have a hope for a long time... darby was a journey man, spearing had heart but was far too small and coady just failed to develop at all. we've had more english bought in taltent that local tlaent and honestly everton have done as well as LFC in buying in younger players. we seem to go for the too young almost. Ojo might be good though.
at liverpool? It would actually be gerrard. owen's debut season came a year before gerrards since then it is a tale of glorious failure. As i would recall. david thompson came before and wasn't really a top player Stephen darby was a journeyman pro at Rb in league 1 Jay spearing was same era and again ended up in championship Conor coady is at wolves but went league 1 Martin kelly would count as he's at palace and playing prem but thats barely. Craig linfield ended up att accrington stanley. he could head a ball Neil mellor was i nthat youth team also.. again didn't "make it" Its really hard to find someone who made a solid first 11 player for us since gerrard
update: found a list Stephen Wright (2000) – 21 apps Jon Otsemobor (2002) – 6 apps John Welsh (2002) – 10 apps Darren Potter (2004) – 17 apps David Raven (2004) – 4 apps Mark Smyth (2004) – 1 app Lee Peltier (2006) – 4 apps James Smith (2006) – 1 app Stephen Darby (2008) – 6 apps Martin Kelly (2008) – 62 apps Jay Spearing (2008) – 55 apps Jack Robinson * (2010) – 11 apps Jon Flanagan (2011) – 50 apps Adam Morgan (2012) – 3 apps Conor Coady (2012) – 2 apps Jordan Rossiter (2014) – 5 apps Connor Randall (2015) – 7 apps Trent Alexander-Arnold (2016) – 1 app http://www.thisisanfield.com/2016/1...scouser-debut-liverpool-since-steven-gerrard/ yeah more there than i thought of. most of them really didn't go it. moragan is a fun shout. the lad has ended up playing non league after a decent start as a gu with an eye for goal
houllier held gerard back. its in gerrard first (and real autobiography) if you want to read how annoyed gerrard was at having being "made" by houllier owen got his debut v wimbledon in 1997 and got a goal on his debut. gerrard didn't play until 1998 and late that year and was put on as a RB. owen got 18 goals that season so he was actually established almost immediately as a first team player before gerrard played.
You can't have him.....he has been shipped out to allow for the development of the exciting youth talent Klavan
Well he's actually been replaced by TAA given they are both right backs but sure... We're actually just giving burnley a helping hand trying to keep another north west club in the league by giving them him for a season
Flanagan was replaced by randall who was replaced by taa. In fairness flanagan never has a chance with those sails of ears holding him back while he ran and randall is the most unfit looking young man ive ever seen not wearing soortsdirect gear.
@astro Ahhh....a defeat at home to the Swans should ensure Astro peace for a while no way he'll turn up chopsin after that.... To the rest of you sounded like a hell of a second half sometimes these things happen eh?
The wheels on the bus have been tired out, been tired out, been tired out. Klopp had his #excuseinearly before Xmas.
Yeah well played Swansea, last time I checked we are still in a far better position than your lads though
You want Astro peace so much that you go out of your way to come here and post after our loss but yeah Astro peace is bliss to you Hope you didnt interrupt anything really important to log on here at the final whistle
