About the £2m tax bill...... It is a tax penalty for not paying the tax bill. ouchie Huns....Maybe Ugly Betty is at Murray Park to donate some scrap metal from his face?
Bullshit. I'm gathering this has eminated from the unemployed Journalist, who makes Leggat seem fair-minded. Why would they go to Ibrox to assess the assets? All they need to do is go on Companies house and see the books.
Why don't you just quote the record? http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/s...icks-as-tax-battle-rumbles-on-86908-23333655/ RANGERS last night accused taxmen of leaking details of the club's £2.8million tax battle. New boss Craig Whyte is challenging the demand - and last night insiders accused HMRC of dirty tricks. The club insist the bill is too high and hope to reach a settlement soon. Club sources last night slammed HMRC employees for leaking information that suggests drastic action could be taken against the Ibrox club. A senior Ibrox source said: "We have been in ongoing discussions with HMRC about the £2.8million liability we inherited from the old regime. "We are appealing that liability and have been assured by HMRC that those negotiations will take their course. "We are dismayed to find HMRC apparently have people who are discussing the club's affairs with the media and we find this outrageous. "We have received information that HMRC sources are claiming that action will be taken against the club this week, which we have been assured is not the case. "We find that conduct astonishing at a time when discussions are ongoing and we are trying to reach an amicable settlement." Whyte paid around £24million for the club and has pledged to make more funds available to manager Ally McCoist. No one from HMRC was available for comment last night.
The £2.8m is already set aside in Rangers FC accounts so why don't they pay it. Probably because of losing out on CL money and Whyte is challenging the inevitable. Rangers FC would not have set the money aside if they thought they were in the right. They knew they were wrong therefore took the correct accounting action. Something Whyte has yet to learn after absconding from this country for 10 years. As to Whyte having any substantial money, that is baloney, and his PR machine is as good as a chocolate fiireguard. Some people have said "we know you have no money, charlatan"
"Something Whyte has yet to learn after absconding from this country for 10 years." You do realise that Whyte is suing the owner of Scotzine website for defamatory remarks made about his previous business dealings.
I didn't, in fact I've never heard of the website but I'm sure he's not too worried Whyte can't stop people experssing an opinion.
Edge Inland revenue are not complete fools, they have dealt with clubs and companies whose accounts are as accurate as the BBC weather forecaster. It is standard practice for your queen's men (the tax men) to visit the sites of operation when they doubt the accuracy of the assessment. Old Whyte and Rangers are spouting bile as usual. Everybody knows that when a company doesn't/can't pay their tax in time, that fact can become public knowledge and rightly so. There is nothing as bad as people/companies sponging on the state. If everybody/company paid what was due and did not claim what they were not entitled to the UK would be a better and safer place.
