http://www.leeds.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=250336 Bates is slamming the agent for the deal falling through
To be fair, if your a player looking to go to a club on it's way to the premiership..... thats not us right now is it. Problem is, we never will be until we get some 'quality' players in. There lies the quandry, where most Managers use there 'name' or 'reputation' to talk players into the club, unfortunately we haven't got that. And even if Larry had either, Bates's bad reptuation would overshadow it.
I think Bates has lost the plot now. Isn't negotiation about give and take and reaching a compromise? The player wanting to come is the most important thing. If a deal couldn't be concluded in time for last night, then so what? Transfers drag out all the time these days.
It was Clivetime's argument why we weren't getting good players in a while back. Glad he's seen sense now.
Because every man and his dog knows there's next to nothing in the warchest. Maybe Grayson's not a great transfer negotiator; that's why we have a director of football, as well as Shaun Harvey who does much of it by all accounts.
What you don't seem to understand is that saying Bates appointed the worst manager of all time and is still sticking with him, is about as critical of him as you can be.
I hate those managers that get us promoted then get us on the verge of Champ play offs with loanees and freebies. Absolutely useless.
