What stunning insight Of course last season was a freak occurrence, that's why they came in as the biggest outsiders in the entire history of sport @5000/1, you total donk.
It's a good side because it's a well balanced side, when all are fit. Pochettino created that balance. I totally disagree that any of those mentioned would have done anywhere near as good a job with the resources Pochettino had at his disposal. All of them have spent way in excess of what we have and are in no better shape. He took what he had, kept what he wanted, disposed of the rest, and brought in a few new signings. Plus, of course, home grown players, like Kane. The only current PL manager I'd place on par with MP would be Conte.
I'm not doubting Pochettino's ability to build a side. But now that he's built it he needs to win things with it. As I've said. If any of the big clubs' managers had that team they'd win the league with absolute ease. Managers are graded on their trophy cabinets. Pochettino's is completely bare and he's already lost out on two of the four trophies up for grabs this season.
Can't see how certain people bang on about how good Poncetto is he has never won anything as a manager and probably won't while he's being held back by the two shysters wallet. I genuinely feel sad for him being at a small unambitious club whose sole purpose is to cash in on their best players. As someone quoted earlier if he doesn't win anything in the next two years he'll either move on to a club with ambition and money or he'll be sacked for telling them they need to buy quality players who don't bottle it under pressure.
We don't currently have the resources to just go out and buy a new piece of our jigsaw when a very important one gets damaged, as has happened frequently this season - the latest being Vertonghen. Clubs like City, Utd, Chelsea would think nothing of spending £40-50 mill in those circumstances. We also don't have quality in depth. When, and if, our first choice eleven are all fit, I might begin to agree; but that hasn't been the case. We also lack a game changer, like Hazard or Pedro. Alli being the closest we've got. There are no, what I'd term, world class players in our side. Kane and Alli are close, maybe Alderweireld too, but that's about it. It's all about the team
You don't need world class players to win the Premier League. We saw to that. If Pochettino is as good as people say, he'll have a Premier League title and probably a domestic cup medal in the next two years. I doubt it though.
Why, then, did the rest of you Seggies swear blind that it wasn't a freak? Please, now, have a good old pop at Pixie and Skiddy, if you don't want to look like a hypocrite. Make up your minds ffs!
Go have a lie down Nige. What most said was that they obviously deserved it, but we'd probably never see it's like ever again. What happened was all of their pieces came together and they created a side that was way better than the sum of it's parts. Once they gained momentum their confidence grew and they achieved the impossible. Bitter ****s like you tried to pour scorn on it, but it was what it was, a fantastic achievement. Where they ever going to follow it up with a second league win this season? Of course not, they peaked and they were always going to fall back, especially after losing their lynchpin to Chelsea.
Firstly, no, they wouldn't necessarily "win the league with absolute ease." Secondly, none of those managers have managed to find the right balance in their own sides (with the exception, perhaps, of Conte), and yet you're spouting bollocks that anyone could have done what Poch has done! Any mupppet can call it after it's been done! This is what really pisses me off about you rabid foxes! One freak season and suddenly you're the World authorities on everything to do with football! You're not. And the only thing that LCFC is likely to win over the next few seasons is the Johnson's Paintball Trophy.
That's Bambi, pal. Wrong. Some did, but the Seggies mostly said that I was wrong to label last season a freak. If you don't believe me, ask them if they think that last season was a freak. Including Lightning and Bambi.
What you did was remarkable, but it was, and will be, a once in a generation occurrence. And was brought about by a set of circumstances. This season has seen things return to normal. In fact, the competition is even fiercer. Only this morning there's talk of Utd paying £100 mill for Griezmann and £70 mill for Silva. Maybe they will, maybe not. The point is that they can afford to do that. We can't, not even close. We have an excellent, very well balanced and coached, first eleven. But, in my view, we don't currently have the necessary quality of squad depth to consistently challenge the far wealthier clubs.
**** me. #rattledbeyondbelief The other top managers have failed to build a side (with the exception of Conte and Wenger). But if you were to give the other top managers a pre-built side (the one Pochettino has now) then they'd win the league 1000%. If Pochettino wants to be spoken in the same breath as Wenger, Mourinho, Conte, Klopp and Guardiola then he needs to start delivering silverware.
Couldn't have put it better myself ... and that's unusual ... I will rescind my comments on 'freak' season ... in the context of the EPL any team winning it other than United, City, Chelsea and perhaps Arsenal will constitute a 'freak' ...the first 3, in particular, have a substantial financial advantage....so if Spurs or Liverpool win it this season it will also be a 'freak' .... obviously not one of such odds as our triumph. If they can win it by a 10 point margin it will be a phenomenal acheivement. One thing it certainly wasn't was 'a fluke' ... we were the best team in the league over a 47 game span .... there is no arguing with that ... it's in the record books.
'Freak' in that nobody saw it coming? Absolutely. 'Freak' in that it was a completely undeserved fluke? Give over.
In other words, you admit you were wrong to assert that Leicester won the title merely because they are a great side (as opposed to the likes of Spurs, Arsenal, United, 'Pool, £ity and Chelsea all ****ing up in the one season)? I'll take that as an apology. I know that you think you are being clever, and you probably don't believe the **** that you have just written, but... I'll bite. No, it wouldn't be a freak if Spurs win the title. We were viable challengers last season, and we are viable challengers against this season, both seasons under the same superb young manager (whom Fergie insists is the best manager in the Prem). This, in itself, is off the back of several seasons of consistently contesting top 4. Clearly, it would not be a freak if Spurs were to win the title. Similarly, it won't be a freak if LCFC get relegated this season, because that is the level at which you rabid foxes must expect to compete, in the Prem.
